I think it was a mistake calling it social distancing instead of physical distancing. It seems to have given a lot of people permission to do as they want rather than what is the social thing to do - helping to protect everyone. I sometimes feel that I have become invisible.

I don't think you're turning into a angry unsociable old bat at all, IzzyBee. Well done on challenging the man. The rules are well publicised. There is no excuse for breaking them. I'm sure if he had had a legitimate reason and had explained it politely to the member of staff it would have been accepted. I just don't understand why people think it's OK for them to put themselves and others at risk.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5

Sun_Addict said:It's DD's birthday today and also would have been my mum's birthday. When I was expecting DD my mum remarked it would be nice if she was born on her birthday. I said don't be daft she's not due until end January/early February. Anyway my mum got her wish 😊Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Your Ninja oven sounds really useful SA. I'm guessing you may see an energy saving on not using the big oven so frequently. I hope your snow melts soon or else it snows properly. When it goes all slushy it's horrible. I'm a bit envious of other people's snow. I have snow envy 🤣.
People who won't follow the rules are so selfish, their attitude is what they want is important and they don't care about anyone else. Meanwhile people are dying 😡 🤬.

The snow has gone @HairyHandofDartmoor it thawed yesterday. It was raining this morning but sunny now.Well done @IzzyBee for reprimanding the customer. It’s thanks to people like him that the virus is still around. What’s wrong with these people 🤬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Took the dog for a long street walk this afternoon in the local area as I couldn’t face the muddy park again. Mr SA came out on his scooter. It was sunny so it brought everyone out, I can’t believe how busy the streets were, whole families out walking. The shopping area was really busy despite only a handful of shops being open. Big queue outside Costa too.Made the pizza tonight, managed to get flour everywhere. It only took 6 minutes to cook in the Ninja oven. I’d roll it out the dough a bit thinner next time as I prefer thin pizzas. Mr SA wasn’t bothered as he prefers thick pizzas. Anyway it was a hit 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Also lots of families pounding the streets around the estate. Most days we don't see anyone walk past the house, today it has been non stop.6 -
Sounds as if that ninja oven has been a great buy6

There are a lot of selfish thoughtless idiots around and one reason why I only do online or click and collect at the moment. Unless someone is physically or mentally unable to shop alone then there should not be groups of people shopping together particularly if the children are teens and perfectly capable of waiting outside a shop. Don't get me started on the people walking the streets sometimes three abreast either.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Morning
Bit late checking in this morning, was determined to finish my book. Mr SA and the dog still haven't emerged from their pits so it's been very quiet.
Today will be NSD 8, no plans to go anywhere or buy anything. Will be braving the mud bath that is the park across the road with the dog a couple of times and that's as far as I'm going today. Exercise apart from walking will be a 30 minute run before I get in the bath later this afternoon.
Finances have been done and I've got a £37.58 underspend this week. £7.58 has been sent to the VSP and £30.00 to the house pot. Saving for a new oven is no longer a priority since I bought the Ninjas so I'm now saving towards doing up the living room and bedroom. Both rooms need totally gutting so won't be a cheap do. £50 has been sent to the emergency fund.
End of the week totals:
Emergency Fund £5150.00/£10,000
VSP (Christmas) £42.82
Holiday £1070.00
Windows £2380.00
Regular Saver £1750.00
House £180.00
I had the mortgage statement for the year yesterday and was surprised to see that the 5 year fixed rate ends next summer, that's gone really fast. It's in two parts, one is the outstanding balance on the mortgage of £15k and the other is the outstanding balance of £8k on the additional borrowing for the kitchen/bathroom. I think I'm going to try and make overpayments to reduce the balances, I can overpay by 10%. Something to think about anyway.
Going to try cooking a whole chicken in the Ninja tonight for Mr SA and DD. The normal oven overheats if I cook a chicken in there so they haven't had one for quite a while. Not sure what I'm having yet, might use up another slice of the chestnut roast from the freezer. Got a slice of pizza left over from last night so I'm having that for lunch with some salad.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9
