Mr SA and DD have given the thumbs up to the chicken. Took just 32 minutes in total. Fell apart it was so tender but was still crispy on the outside. Saved some for the dog because the smell was driving her crazy.Flown to Malaga a few times myself although we used to stay in Puerto Banus which is a tad upmarket, never in white trainers though 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

The ninja is really doing well👍 a sound investment by all accounts.
Overpaying the mortgage seems sensible. That’s what we did. When we bought this house in the early eighties the interest rates were high. We struggled to pay for a good while but things got easier and rates went down but we continued paying the original payments. It shaved a good few years off the mortgage 😄January spends - £587.585 -

Usually a poodle cross of some sort bounding around on the end of an extending lead.Yep Thats the one. Mind we did see a georgeous little thing (no idea of breed) but looks like a teddy bear. Beautifully behaved and she has only had him a couple of months. We seem to have a reputation round here for training our dogs and we have one that was featured on a well known TV programme from a large rescue in central London although she was at their OldWindsor centre as being the most frightened dog they had ever had. When we re watch the programme fromwhen she was first filmed we always end up in tears as she was drooling with fear and her eyes said help me. DH actually fired off an email before she was on TV as there was something in the press about her with a photo. He said it was the eyes that did it. He didnt tell me he had emailed until the next day as it went about 2am and I was fast asleep. Within about 4 days we were visiting with our other 2 dogs (one of whom has since died) but we are now back up to 3. These I think will be our last dogs as DH is over 70 and I am rapidly heading that way unless we can find one that is on its last legs and needs an experenced home.Sorry all that was somewhat longer that it should have been.10 -
That’s a lovely story Ladyholly. Assuming you’re talking about Battersea? My cousin is in her 70s and has adopted an older dog. Was actually another cousin’s dog originally, she sadly passed away. I’d love to have more than one dog but my dog hates other dogs, although she likes cats. I’m sure she thinks she’s a cat.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I’d love another dog my dog is a rescue dog we think she was about 2 when we got her had been dumped don’t think she had been badly treated we don’t know why she was dumped but for the first few weeks we had her when she saw a pushchair or heard a baby cry she was looking all over to go to them think they might have had a baby and she was maybe waking it up she’s quite yappy but we absolutely adore here she’s as bright as a button and so well behaved she’s so good with kids and other dogs but hates cats I love cats at one time I had 5 someone put on another thread there should be a special place in hell for people who are cruel to animals I couldn’t agree more7

We tried to get a rescue dog, had several trips to Dog’s Trust but they weren’t keen on us having a dog when we were both working full time. We ended up getting our dog from an advert in our local paper. The house was in, shall I say, not the best part of town. The woman asked no questions we could’ve been anyone. She had 3 puppies we chose the one who ran out to us and just wouldn’t stop jumping up at me while the other 2 held back. Part of me wishes we’d bought all 3. Ironically we’d only had her a few months before Mr SA went downhill with the brain tumour. I was out of the house from 7am to 7pm with work and hospital visiting and despite her being so young she was as good as gold, rarely had an accident. Of course now there’s someone here all day, so we could’ve had a rescue dog after all. Wouldn’t swap her for anything though, she was a life saver when Mr SA was in hospital for 9 months, such good company, I couldn’t have coped without her.

Yes it was Battersea. She was found cowering under a Bush, having recently had puppies. They think she was an ex breeding !!!!!! from a puppy farm or back street breeder. She was covered in little scars so we think she was forcibly mated. It took me 13months to get her to walk on a lead but she is the most loving dog we have ever had.7

Dogs are the best as far as I am concerned. Sadly I can't walk mine any more as one of them is too nervous after being attacked twice. We have a massive garden and even that freaks him out to be honest. I would not have survived without their love and affection.Nevertheless she persisted.8

Our dog is a rescue. He wasn't beaten we are fairly sure of that but he was badly neglected and left with no food or water in very unsanitary conditions. When we got him he was very underweight, he weighed 5kg when we first got him to the vets a few days after we rescued him. He only weights 8kg now so he was good chunk underweight. He had worms and was badly flea bitten although he didn't have fleas oddly, he stunk to high heaven, had an infected bite on his bum from one of the cats he had been locked up with and his coat was very long and matted. We don't think he had ever been clipped.
It took a good long while to get him back to full health and even longer for him to trust us. It was just a matter of waiting for him to realise that he had found his forever home with us now.
It will be three years in April that we have had him and he is a changed dog from that stinky excuse of an animal that we initially saw.11
