We tried to go to a local country park yesterday. It was a complete no go. We didn't even get out of the car. The cars were parked all up the access road so we turned the car around and went to the park in the town centre which was lovely and quiet.
Going to try a walk at the golf course today. That is usually a bit quieter.6 -
Same here - we live close to very popular outdoor walking areas.
We know quieter areas but the trade off is a little drive to get there but that makes sense to me.
The police have been dispersing people from the well known spots and its been very dangerous in the ice. Mountain Rescue did 4 rescues in one day and some people come out very ill equipped for the conditions.

I had a combined washer/drier once and you could only dry a half load and it didn't dry anything properly so I definitely wouldn't recommend one.
I don't think driving to do exercise should be banned as exercising in a less crowded place would surely be safer than all being crammed in the local park, but I do think dangerous and inconsiderate parking should be cracked down upon. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Finances done. Had a £16.36 underspend this week which is good. £6.36 gone to VSP and £10.00 to oven fund. £50.00 has gone to emergency fund as not needed this week (this is from my £200 a month mini emergency fund kept in the current account just in case, if I don't need it, £50 a week of it goes to the ISA).
This week's totals:
VSP (Christmas fund) £23.98/£600
Emergency Fund £5100/£10,000
Oven £50.33/£600 (approx)
Regular Saver £1750.00

Holidays £900.00
Credit card has been cleared and the £18.95 pending is in the current account waiting for when it clears.
Can confirm NSD4 of January today.

So sad about your neighbour, I hope his wife is okay. Must be torture though I can see it helps keep people safe... and at the other end of the scale people are risking getting into a similar situation just because they don't back off when they see outdoor areas are crowded.
though I see what HHoD means about less chance of infection in less crowded areas. People in the rural areas nearer to me were terrified because walkers who perceived their areas as 'open' were passing close by their windows and potentially bringing the virus with them. That was in the summer though. Now the rural areas up here are hotspots and the Council is begging people not to travel - it's spreading the virus and potentially endangering rescue services who might need to go in.
On another topic and off my soap box () your finances are doing nicely SA.
I think a few people will be treating themselves to upgraded holidays eventually as the holiday funds keep growing!

I agree with @Cherryfudge . Devon and Cornwall police stopped more than 50 people yesterday from coming into the area and apparently all of them were people visiting second homes down here and I would bet many of them were from London where infection rates are through the roof. It makes me really angry when people cannot just do as they are told and stay at home. Whilst I understand travelling to more remote places for exercise sounds sensible they have put a message out that we should not drive for exercise and should stick to walking from home which is fine if you are semi rural as we are but harder in built up towns and cities. I know personally though people are travelling to remote spots but an acquaintance of mine had to call the coastguard out to rescue her last week when she slipped and injured her ankle on the icy and muddy coast path which I know is at least a 20 minute drive from where she lives. I think they fined her too. That puts more at risk as she had to be taken to hospital for an x Ray as if they don't have enough to do at the moment. I would love to go to our nearest stretch of coast but I don't want to get fined and can understand why not getting in the car is better to save the emergency services not being called upon especially when weather conditions are bad.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I’m sorry about your neighbour. It’s horrible for those left behind unable to visit and horrible in hospital with no visitors. It is the best way to stay safe though.I know near here if we go very local it is very crowded but a 10 minute drive and we can be in an area where we can walk along a canal, river and country lanes and hardly see a soul. It’s a dilemma what to do for the best 🤔January spends - £587.585

The footpaths here on the estate have been a joke this weekend. People who have clearly never walked more than a few steps in their lives have suddenly decided to give it a go. It has been manic.
You can spot the non walkers by their bright white new trainers for muddy trails 😅😅😅

Reminds me of Mr SA spotting people with brand new white trainers at the airport when we were going on holiday. He always used to get his a bit dirty so they didn’t look new 😆
Just had a text from HSBC saying a Mr A Khan has been added as a payee to my account, click on the link if you haven’t added him. I’ve never had an HSBC account, scam or what 😱 This type of thing seems to be on the increase, shame on them 🤬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
