Another nice try at a text scam tonight thanking me for my £10 a month donation to Oxfam, click on this link to cancel - yeah right 😡 The scammers seem to be out in full force at the moment 🤬

I once had a legitimate call in Canada from the liver foundation. It was approximately 2 years after my DH had died. I had buried his ashes under a beautiful scarlet maple tree in the front yard as per his request. The caller asked for my husband. I said sorry, he's not here right now, may I help you. She replied that she was just checking to make sure he still wanted to give his usual $300 again this year. Uh-oh, wrong answer hon. I asked was she sure he gave that amount every year (knowing full well he hadn't). She insisted he had and she just needed me to give her his Visa number. Then I landed on her. Told her that he had been dead 2 years and I was plenty p!ssed that he could give that much to them while I and my 5 children were starving. There was a big gasp, followed by a click.Yes I reported her, but not until I had given a wave to the maple. DH would have loved it.8

Morning all
Evebeme that's both a funny and touching story. When I get calls I know are cold callers, I either just cut them off or I sometimes have a bit of fun with them by answering my phone with where I work, tends to get rid of them pretty sharpish 😆
Got a Mr M online delivery coming later this morning but will also be going to the big Mr T after work as I've only put in a very basic online order. Many of the things I want this week I either don't trust Mr M to not sub or they are substantially cheaper in Mr T. I'm thinking about changing from Mr M to Mr T for online deliveries at some stage as although I get 10% discount I think they are getting more expensive.
I've also treated myself to a new gel varnish colour - a while ago I bought a LED curing lamp and all the bits that go with doing your own gel colour but I only have 2 colours so far. Also needed some more batteries which I bulk buy from Amazon. So it's quite a spendy day today.
Today's cleaning is the kitchen. Exercise is walking the dog, walking to/from the big Mr T and an online yoga class. Making Mr SA a beef stew in the slow cooker, testing out the Ninja oven with tuna steak and rice stuffed pepper for me.
It's DD's birthday today and also would have been my mum's birthday. When I was expecting DD my mum remarked it would be nice if she was born on her birthday. I said don't be daft she's not due until end January/early February. Anyway my mum got her wish 😊

They have recently opened a very large Mr A superstore not far from us. We have switched our online shopping to there and have noticed that it is coming in much cheaper than the other supermarkets. We also tend to get the things that we have ordered and have had very few substitutions.5

When I was first told that I needed to shield through Covid the first SM that let me have deliveries was Mr A I booked a recurring 2 week slot which was renewed at the end of Lockdown 1, they have been fantastic, very few subs or OOS items, very good choice for DF and GF too. Shortly afterwards I was allocated access to Mr T and Mr S, T whacked their delivery charge up to £4.50 so I bought a 6 month delivery pass from S for the alternate week, for stock items I toggle between the two and pop the item in the cheapest basket, fortunately while I am not spending on holidays/days out/lunches out etc I do not have to worry too much about the cost, although it does make me wince sometimes. With Mr S I could have a delivery every day if required, but laugh at the thought of making a £40 min shop in that situation LOLThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Have been to the big Mr T to get the few bits we needed. I was surprised to see two young couples were the only customers without masks. Maybe one of them is exempt but both of them 🤔 And I’m sure we were asked not to shop with anyone else unless absolutely necessary 🤔I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
