Morning folks.
Last day in Lanzarote todayThe week has flown by.
Still didn't get my Thai red veg curry - Mr SA spotted a little bar doing battered fish' chips and mushy peas and a pint for 8.95 euros, that was him sold. The only vegi thing on the menu was pizza margherita, which was surprisingly very nice but far too big for one so Mr SA helped me out. He loved his fish and chips. At least I got to go in my favourite bar for a drink afterwards. I've told him it's my choice of food tonight no arguments, I can't keep eating pizza.
A healthy food with lots of veg restaurant would go down a storm here I'm sure.
Hoping today will be sunny. The plan is to have a coffee and croissant in the coffee shop, walk to the harbour, lunch on the way back, afternoon sunbathing (hopefully) then nice meal and drinks tonight.
It's cloudy at the moment but the sun isn't really up yet.
Looking forward to seeing the dog and cat again, lots of vegetables and planning the next holiday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi SA am a lurker on your diary. Love your posts. I too have been a Canary Islands fan for over 20 years. Went to Gran Canaria in Jan and it rained pretty much the whole time. We had one lunch sat in the sun! Never set foot on a sun bed all week. Felt so sorry for everyone with kids. I have been to Tenerife in Feb half term when there were some horrendous storms too lol, but at least it was warm in between. This time I wore my same jeans and boots that I wore on the plane, never even got my sandals out! I am a Villaplus fan too, they were great when we ventured abroad with our five (not very often!). Such a great idea having the pool table and darts board, we used to have family tournaments and swimming galas lol and no worrying about sun beds and shade. You have inspired me to check out their website again. Lovely to see how the company have grown. I never considered a villa for just OH and me but I think that will be our next Canary trip in the Autumn.
Enjoy your last day :beer:Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0 -
I'd love to take the smalls abroad but I really have no idea where to start :rotfl: We attempted an hotel over here and the older ones found it awful having just the 'bedroom' when youngest needed to sleep.
The week has flown past and I hope you have a lovely last day

Hi SA - Hope you enjoy your last day and the sun shines on you!
Joining in on the whole Canaries weather thing - I went to Fuerteventura about fifteen years ago in January - we had what felt like hurricane type winds and rain for nearly the whole week - apart from the last day! The locals kept telling us it was "freak" weather and it wasn't normally like this! Didn't really cheer us up! I remember we all came back one afternoon and made hot chocolate in the apartment because we were cold! Luckily we had warm clothes as we had left England in January! On the last day we took all our daytime photos as the sun had shined - it looked like we had been wearing the same swimwear/beach clothes all week!
At least Mr SA has managed to keep himself busy shopping! Did you end up buying anything else? And here's to a nice Thai red curry tonight (and hopefully some veg!).Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

We didn't get much sun today unfortunately. In all the years we've been coming here this is the worst weather we've had. Don't let me put anyone off it's usually lovely this time of year. Made me laugh when a waiter said to me this morning - nice tan for the weather. I do tan easily though, doesn't take much.
Still we had a nice day and lunch out.
More or less packed up now - can't believe this time tomorrow we'll be landing.
Arsenalbarnie can definitely recommend Villa Plus. We used to use James Villas but their prices have gone up a lot. We've had privately owned ones too but the last one we had in Turkey was horrendous so been put off.
Needn't have put Mr SA's watch on the card, have loads of money left. It will be rolled over to the next holiday.
Mr SA watching Tipping Point!!!!
Need to get straight back on the healthy eating from tomorrow and I don't want to see a pizza again for a very long time!
Hope everyone is okI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
