That's good new on the £150.
I would be tempted with the short break as well7 -
@Sun_Addict and @warby68, I'm not expert in these things but it may be worth having a word with the doctor about health funding. It's harder to get but more reliable than local authority funds. So pleased you both got your funding as carers deserve all the help there is.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

We have a Bensons iGel bed too, was v expensive and a right pain to get up the stairs but worth every penny. I would live on beans to replace it. I made myself go and lie down properly on various beds to make sure, and was previously on good quality memory foam.
Hurrah for the £150, so pleased for you.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I would be sorely tempted by the short break too. Mr SA may not be happy about it but you need to look after your mental health too and from what you have said he can sometimes be very challenging. What is the proposal for looking after him if you go on a short break? Respite care or a carer come in and sort out meals etc for him? Your DD lives with you so can she help out?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. It’s been absolutely horrible weather here today. It’s chucked it down and been really windy. I ventured over the road to get my hair cut and was happy to shut the door after me.....not to venture out again 😏January spends - £587.586

Morning all, happy Thursday 🎄
The carers allowance will be put to one side and used for my secret shopping days/lunches out with friends when we are allowed to meet up again.
Have been to the big Mr T this morning. They had some really good offers on so have picked up a fair bit of stuff towards Christmas. Some really good deals on fresh veg, really annoying that Mr M aren't doing any good online deals on veg. Mr SA came down on his scooter with the dog to pick up the bags and I walked the dog back home. So well on the way to 8k steps already this morning.
Decided to go to the big Mr T very early next Wednesday morning to pick up the last minute fresh food. Have made a meal plan from Christmas Eve through to the Sunday and I've got a list of what I need.
Extra exercise will be walking the dog at lunchtime and a yoga session after work. Cleaning is the bathroom. Making the slow cooker vegan lentil stew with herb dumplings again tonight as it was so delicious last time. Mr SA is having pizza, wedges and salad.
It's a lovely sunny day here today after yesterday's gloom.
Have a good one x

Mr SA’s medical breakthrough idea, and I quote: “It would be better if COVID gave you spots, then you’d know who’d got it because they’d be covered in spots and you could keep away from them” 🤣🤣 Amused me anyway.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)15
