@Sun_Addict your mindset is incredible.National lockdown just after our tier 3+ was getting me down this morning. Wife gone out with son and dog just to get away from me ranting about Boris lol.We walked into town too in the evening grab a pumpkin spice for Halloween - no real trick or treat but son and dog still got dressed up. Hate seeing Notts so quiet tbh it’s really depressing and I wonder how much we are going to lose in the coming months. Retail and pubs already on their knees after the last lot. My business will be affected somewhat if there’s a sustained recession but so many more will be a lot worse off. Lived in Nottingham since I was 18 and consider it my home town now, contribute to local economy and thought we were really on the way up as a city with all the recent investment. Not in a month of Sundays did I think a conservative government would have done so much to harm our economy. Boris has been massively affected by his own experiences and now wrecking smaller towns and cities IMO.6

Lockdown isn't what any of us wanted, especially eight weeks away from Christmas 😟. People are just starting to think about their Christmas shopping so it's grim for shops. It's a bit jump for us in Devon to go from Tier 1 to total lockdown 😕 and even for places in Tier 3 it's still a big difference in what you can and can't do 😥. You can see one person in a public place so you could meet DS in a park I guess.
I know you'll get to your target weight SA as you're so determined. Have a good Sunday.

We are Tier 1 in Cornwall too so I am a bit gutted especially as I had planned a visit up to Surrey to visit my 85 year old mum in a few weeks time so she is really disappointed. She is Tier 1 too so cannot understand the reasoning and those slides they showed on the news briefing showed nothing except it is worse in the North but they have said we have so little hospital capacity in the South West we are only a few weeks away from being overwhelmed. The thing is we are shutting the economy down effectively but how are things going to be different in four weeks? We shut down for three months earlier on in the year and we are back there again and this is not going to be the last lockdown . I feel so sorry for anyone who works in retail, hospitality or the entertainment or travel sector. I do not know if things will ever recover tbh.
I am annoyed I cannot see our friends, we can still baby sit our grandchildren but cannot see my daughters and son in law. The gym is shut and like SA I am annoyed that at 60 I am classified as vulnerable and am fitter and healthier than many 30 and 40 year olds I know. I'm so sorry you can't see your Mum Enthusiastic Saver, it seems such a shame as you're both in Tier 1. My son is at uni in Surrey and I hope he'll be able to come home for Christmas. Families being separated is one of the worst parts of this lockdown I think. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I usually visit brother in law every month since my sister died so the Nov. visit is off the cards hopefully Dec can go ahead. I am the nearest thing to a relative he has and none of his friends are near. He is 88 next month so it is going to be another lonely time for him. I do wish people will consider the consequences of their actions and learn to do as they told for the sake of all.8

It's going to be tough for folks not able to see family, I won't be able to see DS and the GKs until December. It must be awful for those on their own who aren't in a bubble. There's a few at work who've had to go back into the office for MH reasons as they're on their own with no family. I really hope this lockdown makes a positive difference. I did hear somewhere that it takes 18-24 months for a pandemic to run its course and we're nowhere near that yet. I'm hoping people won't start stockpiling and queuing outside shops again. I've managed to secure online delivery slots for the next 3 weeks thankfully but will no doubt have to go out for top ups/missing items. I go very early in the morning before it gets busy so contact with others is minimal.
Making a roast butternut squash, red pepper and red onion risotto for my dinner. Mr SA has some pork cooking in the slow cooker. Still got loads of stuff to use up in my freezer, it never seems to go down. Next week's meal plan will take into account what I've already got in stock. Trying some new recipes next week: spaghetti with chilli cherry tomatoes, bean and lentil chilli and vegan campfire stew (using jackfruit in place of pork). Of course Mr SA won't touch any of this so will be cooking him separate meat meals, we never have the same thing apart from the occasional pizza.
It's been nice not to have to go anywhere today apart from taking the dog out. She's had a run on the park with me this morning then Mr SA took her back over later on his scooter to watch the Sunday football match. I'll probably take her over again before it gets dark.
Just need to check finances now. Although I bought a few extra bits on Friday it wasn't that much so won't be any unexpected shocks. When Mr SA was well and working, I often used to check the cc to find he'd spent a fortune on tools for work without checking if we could afford it first. He never saw the cc as real money.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Sounds like you have had a lovely peaceful and relaxing day . I am so glad we can work from home and that we are still in a full time job. As for being 60 or over and being vulnerable, I don't think you fall into that category at all. Your cooking tonight sounds very tasty I hope you enjoyed it when it was ready . Enjoy the evening .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.8

There was a rave not that far away from us last night with between 700 and 900 people. It took the police 17 hours to get rid of them all and they were being threatened/attacked with lighted aerosols. The reporter interviewed a couple of the youngsters who were complasining the police were too hard!!! They were asked why they were there when they knew is was illegal. The answer - we wanted some fun and it was halloween. Then people wonder why we are back in lockdown. I truly despair of these irresponsible people.
