I was thinking about this new rule no gatherings of 6 or more, does this mean that when DS and the GKs come one of us will have to leave the house as there are 4 of them and 3 of us? I feel like I can't keep up with all the changes and I'm not sure what you can and can't do.
You presumably are the same given you work at home and are exposed to your DD all the time why would it matter if you saw DS and his wife and kids? The risk is almost the same whether you saw three of them or four of them. The risk probably comes more from your DD if she is going out to work? What is the situation with DS and his family. I agree the new rules make it very awkward if you have a larger family, I'm lucky because there is only two of us in my household and DD1s household is the biggest that would visit us at four people,so even if it's still in force at Christmas we can still get together. They did say that if you are in a bubble together it doesn't apply so could you get round it that wayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207

Yes DS and family are mixing with a lot of other people. DS is back at work, the GKs are back at school and DIL has a large family who they see regularly. We only see them once a fortnight so hopefully this will be ok risk-wise. It's a blooming minefield!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Check it out, because I thought I heard something about children under 10 being exempt from being counted in the 6, but not sure if that was when they rotated through two households.I Believe.....

In Scotland children under 12 don't count in the total of 6. I don't know that it is the same in England though. I think I read that if you are a family of 5 you can only meet up with one grandparent. I had hoped that Scotland changing our rule in line with England would help clarify the situation but I'm not sure that it's quite that clear cutHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8

Apparently childen of any age are to be counted but I am blowed if we are going to count our 3 week old GGD. Will social distance though to keep her safe.

Morning folks, happy Friday 😎🎉
Felt sufficiently well enough to go for a run this morning and feel so much more energised for it.
All I can say about the fortnightly DS and family visits and this rule of 6 is that DD will have to stay in her room for the duration. The GKs love going into her room as she is a dedicated gamer and has an impressive array of kit which they are fascinated with. When you think about it yet again the minority breaking the rules have ruined it for the majority of us who've been abiding by them. So annoying.
Have a fabulous Friday x

I totally agree with you. We passed a new small bar that used to be a single shop on the way home - it was rammed - no distancing whatsoever 😷. But I can’t get my family’s of 7 together 😳😡January spends - £587.586
