I've ordered a midi skirt and some leisure pants (reviewer said they were ideal to accommodate her cast) from M&S. Will be delivered tomorrow. Of course Mr SA was coming up with a list of things he wanted, including yet more joggers, I ignored him, I need these things to be able to attend appointments.
In money news the final DFS sofa payment has gone outAlthough gas and electric has gone up - I shopped around for the best deal but still £12 a month more than what I'm paying now. Anyway still less than I was paying before I got the smart meter.
Cancelled my nail appointment for next Thursday. Still going to attempt the panto, I went with the broken ankle, might have to ring them up though to see if I can get a disabled seat again. Work meal next Friday - will reassess when I've got the new cast, if it's a walking boot I'll be ok. Same with hairdressers. Oh what a bloomin' nuisance
Still shell shocked to be honest.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
A neighbour has just been round with some flowers
She's going to come round with her phone number in case I need anything which is really nice of her. I know I've got to give in and let people help if they want to.
Mr SA has put some lights up outside I won't quality control them, at least he's made an effort.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Not surprised that you are shell shocked TBH.
Take carexx

Good idea on the maxi skirt - you can swap it around with your tops.
And thank goodness for online grocery shopping! Though get DD to rustle up Mr SA's dinners - you don't want to risk doing too much at this stage -and DON'T rush back to work!
Matymoo's made an excellent point about the insurance and keeping all the accident related receipts like the taxis. You don't want to be out of pocket over this!
Hope your shock wears off and you feel more comfortable this evening.

It is a long time since I broke my ankle, but I wore leisure pants or soft fabric wide leg trousers, good choice of midi not maxi skirt, with a maxi it is all too easy to step on the hem and trip, also really difficult going up or down stairs with a very long skirt. Pleased that Mr SA is trying to do things:) xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

Oh no - I’m so sorry to hear your news.
Whereabouts on your leg have you broken - I’m guessing it’s a below knee plaster if your hoping to be able to walk on it. Take it easy if you’re on crutches - I remember thinking I could get to the places I used to walk on mine. My hands and sides became so sore as I’d tried too much too soon....I could eventually walk a good distance with them but please remember to take it easy.
I’m lost for words....like you said your ankle has finally mended and now this. I’m gutted on your behalf.January spends - £587.580 -

Morning folks
Mr SA has just taken the dog out, she was driving me nuts leaping all over me, she's hurt my legHopefully she'll calm down once she's been out.
Managed to find the Insanity instructor on FB and let him know I won't be going for a while. There are only a few of us go so I wanted to get a message out that I've not just disappeared. Such a shame as I was really getting into it, hopefully won't be too long.
I won't be able to claim any compensation. I didn't get the driver's details and I crossed when I shouldn't have. It's just one of those things' I'll have to bite the bullet, this is why everyone needs an amergency fund.
At least I've passed the 48 hours post head injury stage and can stop worrying about falling asleepAccording to the leaflet I'm allowed to be bad tempered :rotfl:
Plan for today is to get Mr SA to tidy up. He came out with a gem this morning said at least you don't have to go to work tomorrow - I'd rather be going there than hospital!!!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

You mean the driver did not stay until ambulance police arrived? its a criminal offence to drive away if you hit a person. it does not matter who is in the right or wrong. The person who hit you may have been on street medication/alcohol / no tax or insurance . There are many factors the police need to consider. Also as you hit by car the ambulance can charge you for call out! Were there any witnesses cctv from houses shops or passing cars?
you have had a serious head injury and broken bones. Were you knocked out?
Please if not done so report to police they will have powers to find driver by recalling cctv if available.
For the driver not to give you details is very suspicious and very wrong on many levels. You may have damaged their car windscreen so their car needs to be checked to! Driver not giving details gives me the hebejebis.
please report to police if not involved . The next person who is hit maynot be so lucky to survive. it will be classed as hit and run
