Sorry you had an accident SA. Take care and don't run around after Mr SA. Also delurking to say I'm so sorry about your accident what a dreadful thing to happen. As a fellow carer I can understand your responsibilities but I agree with everyone else and think you are still in shock, you must sit back and let others care for you. Sending you lots of love and hugs x0

Morning folks
Thank you for all the lovely comments and how nice to see so many delurkers
Was hoping to wake up this morning to find it was all a bad dream. Oh well
Very sore this morning and MatyMoo you're right the bruising is far worse today. There's a particularly spectacular one on my back where the car hit me.
I remembered I was almost across the road when the car hit me so the driver obviously wasn't paying attention or she would've seen me. Still what's done is done too late to do anything about it now. I need to rest and concentrate on recovering.
Mr SA is already up  He's going to pick up a paper and some bread. Fortunately I order most of my shopping online and we've got plenty in. We'll manage.
DS wanted to come to see me today with the GKs but I've said no firstly because it would mean them cancelling a Santa trip they were going on and secondly I could do without a roomful of visitors while I'm so sore. SIL is going to pop in next week and I've asked my WW leader to let my neighbour know so she might pop in.
Goodness knows what I'm going to wear on Monday to the hospital. I only possess skinny jeans, all my skirts are very short. Can you picture me turning up in my sequin mini skirt with a cast :rotfl: Trust me to do this in winter again. Yesterday I came home in a hospital gown. Mr SA has offered to lend me his Xmas PJ bottoms - he's a size XXL and I'm an 8 :rotfl:
Another annoying thing is it's going to cost me a fortune in taxis as the hospital is miles away. It's about £12 each way
Anyway I've got a stack of magazines and more than enough books. I'll have time to catch up with diaries and stuff I never get round to watching on TV. I won't be boredI've got my work surface pro at home so could even work if I wanted too. Might sign off on sick until after Christmas though, I'll see what the hospital say. I was breaking up anyway on Friday.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Delurking to say sorry about your accident.
Directing from a chair sounds like a good plan.
Take care0 -
Laughing at the thought of you in a sequin mini & cast!
The bruising will take some time to come out fully so be gentle on yourself & acceptant any and all offers of help. Work wise, take each day as it comes & do what you feel you can. I suspect they aren’t expecting you to do much this side of Christmas
I hope the driver gave you his insurance details?
You should be able to claim reasonable expenses from them so keep receipts for taxi’s and anything else you need to pay out for because you can’t do it yourself. For example I needed a cleaner for four weeks following a car accident that damaged my back.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
What about heating one of your lovely holiday dresses? With a big cardi or coat obviously.
I’m sure you should be off work til after Christmas now. We know you’re a trooper, but not many people get run over and go straight back to work .
Take ALL offers of help. It’ll aid your recovery XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Sending hugs, SA.
I think you should go with the sequinned mini skirt (or treat yourself to a flowing maxi).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
