Thanks Beanie, it's wearing thin now and I've really had enough of it. I don't think it even crosses his mind that I could easily decide to say let's sell up, split the proceeds and wash my hands of him. Then what would he do?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I remember doing a capability meeting with someone years ago, and his wife saying to me afterwards that the hardest bit was the guilt and resentment. If her H hadn't survived the life assurance would have paid out and instead she was wiping his bottom and scraping a living to support someone who wasn't her husband anymore and sometimes she wished he had gone. I have to admit to crying most of the 80 miles home in sheer sympathy.
I wish we could help. I wish he got it,. Must be so very hard to cope with.My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Blimey. I think Mr SA forgets(or chooses to forget) that you work full time & do everything in the house.
I do appreciate that he has his difficulties but he really does not know how lucky he is.
I do not know how you do it.
I agree with Beanie, I really think he is incredibly ungrateful and lazy. You do so much for him and a bit of appreciation would go a long way. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It is quite unfair basically, I think of my sister in the same way although she is only 2 years in and I think very unrealistic. She does nothing for herself.
You must make sure you keep doing things and do even more. You only get one life and it is terribly horribly sad for Mr SA, but you do everything you can possibly do for him. self sacrifice gets you no where.
Big love XXXXXNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Thanks all, sorry for being so negative but sometimes it gets to me
Mr SA has even been hassling DS about the bike business I've told him not to take any notice.
Went to WW this morning, stayed the same which is a miracle as not been 100% on it for a few weeks. Had a laugh with the group, they're a great bunch of people and I enjoy going.
DS and the GKs came today. DD more or less took over the GKs, they love playing with her, she's like a big soft kid. She'd make a great nursery assistant.
Yet again annoyed with Mr SA as he went out supposedly to get a bottle of Cobra to go with his curry tonight and came back with a crate of beer instead  He's already got plenty of beer in so a total waste of money.
Hopefully will get to Insanity tomorrow then I must do the cleaning. Working from home again Monday so it won't seem so bad.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend so farI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I dont think you are negative.
That is the reality of how it is.
Lucky that Mr SA does not live with me as I would have poured the new beer away. Dont suppose he got you any wine or gin?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. That's the sad thing about brain injuries and traumas, they change the person and it's usually the family especially the closet people who suffer. If this is the case for Mr SA then sadly it's not his fault that he is this way. Was he like this before the diagnosis. I feel so sorry for you SA, it is relentless and there is no break for you. You have been through "the mill" as well. I hope things work out for you and soon life eases up.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

You aren't being negative at all SA, it is what it is. As Amber says that is !!!!!! nature of brain injuries(obviously Amber put it better than that!). My Brother in law is totally and completely different to how he was before. It easily counts as the most shocking experience of my life how completely and utterly different he is towards me. In a lot of ways his personality is the same but he didn't have much time for me before.
Just sending you love SA XXXNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Happy Sunday folks and thanks for the support
Did Insanity this morning, was tough but good, enjoyed it.
Weather has been lovely today but cold. Don't mind so much when it's sunny though.
Mr SA is creeping round me, I think he knows he's been out of order. Amber he was like this before to some extent, although he was more thoughtful. He's become very selfish and thinks everything revolves around him.
Made a start on tarting up the bathroom, taken down the wonky shelf Mr SA put up, it just needs a lick of paint really. Want it done for Christmas.
Glad I'm working from home tomorrow, makes Sunday seem less daunting. However, have the dentist tomorrow morning
Made a batch of spicy lentil soup for the week ahead. Going to do finances tomorrow now. NSD todayI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
