Forgot to say DS's next door neighbour is one of the interior designers on the new show starting on Wednesday on BBC2 at 8pm, sort of a Bake Off for interior designers. On the day the BBC were filming her at her house, GD and GS were arguing in the garden - DS suspects that the racket will be edited out but I'll be watching just in case :rotfl:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Wow, such a lot going on!! Hopefully the interview went better than you think, but as has already been mentioned, there’s nothing lost if you like the job you’re in anyway.
Boo to Mr SA’s fall. Has it shocked him into being more careful?
Hope the Grandkids are on the tv :rotfl: XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Thanks lucky, it won't make him more careful, he's totally oblivious to the havoc he causes.
Just done a final finances check and I've got an £18.50 underspend this week, happy days :j
Meal plan:
Tonight: fish pie with herby cauliflower mash
Monday: roast veg lasagne - made this today with leftover veg roasted in the oven, cooking ahead
Tuesday: lentil and okra curry - trying a new recipe from my WW veggie cookbook
Wednesday: scampi, swede chips and veg
Thursday: veg chilli and cauli rice - using up stuff from freezer
Friday: salmon stir fry
Saturday: pizza made from naan bread
Got quite a nice week ahead, will only be in the office 2.5 days this week. Monday and Tuesday at work, Wednesday work from home, Thursday morning in Birmingham for a meeting then off in the afternoon, Friday morning at work then meeting old school friends for lunch.
Had a bit of an argument with Mr SA over tonight's TV viewing. I spent all my work bonus on a new 48 inch screen smart TV last year which I rarely get to watch. He had decided on tonight's viewing but I want to watch something else, he suggested he record it and I watch it another time (which will never happen I don't have time). I said no you record your programme you've got all week to watch it while I'm at work. I wouldn't mind but he watched a film last night I didn't particularly want to see. We spend most of the time watching his bloomin' medical programmes, it's time I got to choose.
Saw a poster in a local shop advertising Men in Sheds and suggested he go. He's refused saying it will be full of "old blokes".
Have a good week folks :beer:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
The men’s shed it not full of old men.
A very diverse age group from all different backgrounds very different abilities & needs.
Our local one sounds fab.
They meet three times a week & do lots of different things.

Bet Mr SA was scared when he couldn’t get up in the garden. How did he get up in the end - did somebody find him?
I wish he would go to Men in sheds - it’d give him something to think about.....ooooohhhh but can you imagine the wish list for new tools:eek::eek::eek:
Hope you hear from the interview soon but it sounds as if your current job is ideal for you.
I don’t blame you standing your ground on the tv show....hope he didn’t sulk and ruin your viewing.January spends - £587.580 -
Who won the TV argument in the end?I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -

Afternoon folks
Put the champagne cork back in the bottle I didn't get the job. Not surprised in the least and really not that bothered. I'm more than happy with where I am right now. The extra money would've been fab though, never mind.
I won the TV battle by the way.
Mr SA actually went to Men in Sheds, stayed 15 minutes and declared it not for him. This was after me nagging him. I know he's limited as to what he can do but I get so sick and tired of his total dependence on me. He's also been swimming this week but still hasn't regained his ability to swim. He was a really good swimmer before so it must be the part of his brain that's damaged doing this. It's weird.
Couldn't have picked a better day to work from home as it's poured down all day.
Off to Birmingham tomorrow, meeting in the morning then I'll have a potter round the shops before heading home.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sorry that Mr SA only lasted 15 minutes at the Mem’s Shed.

It sounds as if you’re quite settled where you are jobwise - although the money would have been nice. Better the devil you know.....
Enjoy your mooch around Birmingham tomorrow - and hooray to staying warm and dry at home. I’m pleased your job allows you little treats which Mr SA can’t do anything about
Does Mr SA go swimming by himself. I don’t suppose for a minute he’d agree to another carer/friend like he had some time ago. If I remember rightly that didn’t last long.January spends - £587.580
