  • Goodness, SA!

Mr Expert's favourite hobby is also shopping - preferably online, but anywhere. There's no brain injury to deal with, luckily, but I do wonder what he'll be like when he's retired and bored if this is how he spends all his free time already! He can spend an entire week's worth of evenings looking at cupboard handles, and no sooner has he bought those then he's decided he's going to make a cigar box guitar or retile something and off he goes again.

Add in a brain injury and nothing to do all day and you can see why Mr SA gets a bee in his bonnet about whatever he's decided he needs - it's just a shame that he won't find something more productive to do.

I don't suppose he'd get into the thrill of listing and selling on eb*y, would he? He can start with those watches.

Despite buying the wallet online, he's pretty useless with computers. Him eBaying would actually mean me doing it. He doesn't look after his things so his old stuff isn't in great condition.

Forgot to mention yesterday when I removed my cc from the account there were 2 other things waiting to be checked out - another wallet and some gloves

There are so many jobs that need doing in the house and garden I wish he'd set himself to those. I know he's limited to what he can do but he could take his time, he's got plenty of it.

Anyway that's Monday done and a NSD and AFD in the bag, not been too many of either just lately so need to get back on track. Went for a run at lunchtime, didn't particularly feel like it but as always I ended up enjoying it and was glad I did it.

Work friend is stable but still in a coma, she keeps having setbacks unfortunately. To be honest things don't sound too good but we're all keeping our fingers crossed that will change.

Oh no - not more wallets! At least you've nipped these and the gloves in the bud. Yes it's a shame he can't get himself in gear for the jobs. As you say he could take his time about them. Would do him good physically as long as he takes it easy.

Hope things turn positive for your poor friend.

Half way through the week already!

Unbelievably Mr SA has managed to spend another £30 by giving the next door neighbour money towards some fence panels. I don't mind this to be honest as I think technically they are our fence panels (and Mr SA fell onto one and broke it). It's just he never for one minute thinks about where the money is going to come from and if we can afford it. He's always been like this, it's not a brain injury thing, he's always been a nightmare with money.

Anyway, I've had to rethink my budget and have come up with a slightly different plan. The spends and holiday budget will run 4 weekly to coincide with Mr SA's money coming in and DD paying her board. The bills and savings will run monthly when I get paid. I think this will work better to be honest. This means the spends budget has started afresh as from Monday. It's all a work in progress until I settle on something that works.

Mr SA's expensive wallet still hasn't arrived despite paying over the odds for P&P.

  • I don't know how you cope with Mr SA, I really don't . Maybe you should make him earn his spending money via jobs around the house and garden ;).

I'm just delurking to say I think you're truly amazing! I've read your diaries from the start and I am in awe of how strong and positive you are with everything you have to deal with. I know there's no choice and you have to be there for Mr. SA but you deserve every holiday and secret day off.

    I will re-lurk… for now.
    Just keep swimming!

Good job you managed to catch the eBay spends
:rotfl:I’m not even sure what Mr S needs the wallets for he doesn’t hang onto his money long enough for it to get into a wallet.
