@Sun_Addict what a night! Be kind to yourself today. I can well imagine how stressed and justifiably angry you are. I always admire how brilliantly you manage an impossible situation. Give yourself what you need. Love Humdinger xx3

He finally managed it after lots of attempts.badmemory said:Is that a case of he can if he wants/needs to or thankfully he finally managed it?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
We had a new bathroom 5 years ago, I asked for a separate shower and bath but they said there wasn’t room. I also asked for grab handles in the bath and didn’t get them. Absolutely not an option to give up the bath. I’ve given up a lot for Mr SA so this is one thing I intend to cling on to. If it came to choosing I’d rather get rid of Mr SA 😆ladyholly said:Take it easy today.Do you have grab handles etc. If you have room in your bathroom could you get a seperate shower so he doesnt get stuck in the bath. I would suggest replacing the bath but I know that is your sanctuary so I wont.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
I'd suggest the grab handles, but does he have the upper body strength to use them. Perhaps instead of a new bomber jacket you could get him some dumbells! I'm sure he'd love that!

I’m going to get him a grab handle for the wall next to the shower. Then at least he’s got something to grab hold of if he feels himself slipping. We have loads of weights. He actually has a proper set he used prior to his illness. He always says he’s going to start using them again but never does. The GP gave him a sheet of exercises to do to improve his upper body strength, he did them for a day then gave up. He wants to make improvements as long as he doesn’t have to put any effort in. If he could take a tablet that did it he would.badmemory said:I'd suggest the grab handles, but does he have the upper body strength to use them. Having said the above, one of the parts of his brain that’s damaged controls motivation so basically he doesn’t have any.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Oh SA.
Sorry but bloody man!!! Honestly.
I was cleaning my room yesterday and had a load of stuff in the hall, Mum INSISTED on going into her room for no reason other than to prove she could. I try really hard to understand but at the same time it scrunchies up my brain so MUCH.
I have occupation health coming again for Mum and a rail for the front, it terrifies me when we go to the hospital. I am sure they would come and sort the bathroom out again. So frustrating tho to have to deal with him tho. no motivation but bloody stubborn!

Nevertheless she persisted.4 -
