@Sun_Addict you really are hardcore with the walking. We should probably walk into town more often as really not far for me tbf newish coffee place on Mansfield Rd is quite nice too. Another !!!!!! world where you live, ten minutes walk for the bus fml not like you're out in the countryside. You'll possibly laugh at this... many, many years ago I had to tell my wife Gedling was actually a place, she thought it was just a council district. Made me drive her there to prove I wasn't winding her up.

So I am now feeling balanced and nourished 🤣 Actually it was lovely, would definitely make it again. I made 4 portions so a portion for work lunch tomorrow, the rest is going in the freezer.@alt80 I’ve always been an avid walker, since childhood. Can’t see the point in sitting when you could be moving and I can’t be bothered to stand around waiting for a bus then sit on it next to someone coughing and sneezing while it stops at every stop. Having said that I did get a bus to BJ last week to meet friends, walkable from mine but I was in the city centre.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

@Sun_Addict- I did use public transport regularly when I lived on the outskirts of the city centre, but I have always been a weirdo magnet, so even my 6-mile bus journey often turned into a bit of an experience. According to my friends, I 'have a kind face' so I used to try sitting there looking stern.

Can't remember the last time I used a bus, must be at least 6yrs a go or more. When I worked in the city many years ago I used to have to commute by bus. You wouldn't believe how many coughs & colds I used to get....never again!Making the debt go down and savings go up

I use the bus regularly. Fortunately I have a bus pass. However they do not run to time or even at all sometimes. They are having trouble getting drivers but from casual chats with some of them if they were treated better they would be able to keep them. There are very few who seem to stay for any length of time. One was telling me they finish their day in the town centre and then have to walk to the depot to collect their cars. OK its only 15mins but after a 12 hour shift walking in the cold and rain it is no way to keep their drivers. I have heard of many other difficulties they have with management. Their pay is also nothing like train drivers. I have never driven a train but I think in many ways they may be comparable jobs in terns of skill and bus drivers have to putt up with the public, taking money etc5

@ladyholly, yes it must be a thankless task being a bus driver. Not just putting up with the public and possible abuse, but also the traffic and the responsibility if anything should happen on the bus. At least train drivers don't have to put up with bad traffic or people coughing and sneezing all over them, and they also have the back up of the control people and normally a guard on board.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Thank goodness it’s Friday 💃🥳🥂
Managed a whole day in the office although I did have a long break this morning when I went to Mr S. I’ve picked up a few Christmas bits today so making inroads into my list.
I’ve done 25,000 steps today. You won’t be surprised to read my calf muscles are like solid wood from all the exercise over the years, you can literally knock on them and they don’t budge 😆
Mr SA has been really annoying by constantly ringing me. I was walking home around 4pm and he rang to ask where I was. Hello I’ve been at work that thing that pays for the roof over your head 🙄 When I got home I remarked on how tired I felt and he said that’s what daytime drinking does to you - daytime drinking !!!! 🤬
In the queue at L*dl on the way home, the bloke in front of me asked how my week had been, I just said busy. I didn’t ask him about his week but it didn’t stop him telling me all about it and how rubbish it had been 😬
The only Black Friday deals I’ve bought are from @m@zon, the water flosser and an umbrella. Both needed and would’ve been bought anyway, just nice to get a few quid off.Tonight’s dinner was lightly dusted yellowfin sole with lots of veg.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
