Thank goodness all were reasonably ok. Hope it’s shaken him just enough to make him slow down on the scooter.

Glad the dog is ok.Silver lining from the power cut is that you might have saved a few pence on your energy bill - bad news is having to re-set the cooker clock. My elderly dad is v worried about power cuts (though he worries if he hasn't got enough to worry about). We've got torches strategically positioned around his house and he carries a torch in his pocket. I've reassured him that his stairlift will switch to a backup battery.5

Your hubby is a true white van man lol. I've no idea how you cope without a car in this weather.
On a different note I know you don't live within NCC area but I get a newsletter through from them. They are doing some green incentive for people to use public transport; 15% off through green rewards app for residents within the NCC area but also those in surrounding areas - Gedling probably included.

You won’t catch me on public transport unless absolutely necessary @alt80 😆 The nearest bus stop into town is a 10 minute walk away from my house and it’s a 15 minute walk from the bus stop in town to work. Add into the mix the journey on the bus and you’re looking at 40 minutes. It takes me 45 minutes to walk the 3 miles and costs me nothing.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Phew, just caught up on the last few weeks of your diary! Your kitchen island looks so beautiful and I love the stools. I have a galley kitchen and the depth of your island is the walkway space that I have 😂. I'm really tempted to get a kitten, but having grown up with cats I remember what their claws do to your furniture. My seatee is about 14 years old so it's not new but I can't afford to replace it just yet, but I'd like aura of cats, they're really soothing.
Good to see Mr SA back on his scooter (despite the crash), and hopefully he'll slow down a little. 8mph doesn't sound fast but I guess if you're very close to something and accelerate to that speed, it's like going twice as fast 🤔.
Do you have a smart meter for Octopus? I never get any deals from them, but I've requested a smart meter but not heard anything as yet.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Oh that makes sense then @Sun_Addict about specific times to save money. I'm on the waiting list too, so I'll just see how that pans out.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Thursday already! This week has flown by.
Went to @ldi this morning so another spends day. Also ordered a replacement water flosser from @m@zon as my current one has sadly given up. I still need to find a decent umbrella as mine is worse than useless in the current wave of heavy rain we're getting.
Exercise has been my walk to @ldi and back this morning (9,000 steps), a lunchtime strength training class and a yoga class after work. I'll be happy with 15,000 steps count by the end of the day.
Tonight's dinner is roasted aubergine Kitchari, trying a new recipe that will use up the aubergines I picked from the greenhouse. It will also use up some out of date brown basmati rice. In case anyone is wondering, Kitchari is a staple in Ayurvedic cleansing and is believed to nourish and balance the body while being easy to digest. It contains lentils which are a source of protein. There you go 😆
Finances have been checked over and spends logged and accounted for.
The weather has been a bit of everything today. It was very overcast this morning and almost looked like it was going to snow, then the sun came out, now it's dark and raining.

That's a decent walk to the shops. Our local shops are only about a 3500 step round trip and my nearest big supermarket is about 4 miles each way, so a bit too far to be carrying groceries....lol, although I do have a shopping trolley, but the walk is along a busy bypass and not very pleasant really.
The dinner sounds interesting, not heard of that before. Interesting it is good for digestion and yet contains lentils. I love using lentils and used to use them a lot, but DH got diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (which is to do with the digestion), and lentils are supposed to not be good for it. Sounds tasty to me thoughMaking the debt go down and savings go up
