WFH today, been busy all morning but partly because I went to Aldi first then straight into 3 meetings.

Did a live WW lunchtime stretch and relax session which was nice. Got a live cook along at 6pm, although not cooking along just watching.

Making gnocchi and roast veg bake for tonight's dinner to use up some out of date gnocchi and some veg that needs using up.

It's a nice sunny but windy day so washing is out on the line.

Need to chase up the non-receipt of Amazon refund. All very strange as it's 12 days since I dropped it off at the parcel drop shop, surely it should be with them by now!

I hit my 750 day streak with Duolingo today so have 3 days free Super Duolingo, not that I have shed loads of time to take advantage of it! Also had an invitation to book my Covid booster which reminded me I need to book flu jabs in for Mr SA and I. I felt absolutely dreadful the day after the last Covid booster so need to make sure I'm not working the next day.

Chased up the Amazon return/refund and need to wait until it's been 2 weeks since dropping the parcel off.

Well done on the 750 days! I'm about half a year behind you. :) I had no idea you got a freebie to celebrate. In the days when you could put the trial run on as often as you wanted, I did try Super (or its equivalent), and there were some bonuses but as far as I remember, nothing that I felt I needed. I know you can keep going longer with it but if I'm tired enough to make lots of mistakes, I think I'm too tired to benefit from the app anyway.

Have you got a new format in Spanish? French gave me a different layout the other week which I'm still getting used to. I'm disappointed that all my timed exercises show up as blanks: the combination of typing on my phone and predictive text sabotages every attempt! It's so maddening: it may be the nuances of my pronunciation, but it persists in writing things I didn't think I'd said.

I hope your next Covid booster is uneventful. Are they changing the format to keep up with variants? If so you may get ne that suits you.

They’re always changing the layout in Spanish. My streak should’ve been over 1,000 days but I lost it when I went to Greece a couple of years ago. This year I made sure I did just one lesson a day to keep it up. You get 3 days free every so often, I wouldn’t pay for it as I don’t spend a lot of time on it, maybe 30 minutes a day if that. The keyboard on my phone is mainly in Spanish now as is predicted text which shows I type more in Spanish than English 😆

Well it’s been all go on our road today. This afternoon we had a funeral procession, huge wicker coffin in an open glass hearse being walked down the road then just now we’ve had the fire brigade putting out a fire on the banks at the back of our houses 😱 Thankfully no real damage done but can you imagine if the trees and bushes had been tinder dry like they were during the heatwave! Doesn’t bear thinking about.
Just been catching up on your diary and was glad to read these two events weren't related

Perhaps I should switch to Spanish - I've never been offered free days! :D My phone keyboard is generally in French too - it was ultra-confusing when I added German but as I don't speak German I managed to remove that.

I admire your commitment to duo lingo. I tried the Spanish when I was working as I accompanied some of the children to a Spanish lesson. Once I stopped working I tried the French, it’s surprising how much schoolgirl french I remembered. I’m not consistent with it though.

We went to Bergerac a few years ago and no one spoke English. Fortunately I’d been learning French since I was 8 so it came in very handy, although nowhere near fluent, just enough to get by. I also did German to O level. My forte is languages, I do enjoy learning new ones. We go to Spain a lot so it’s good to know some of the language in case it’s needed.

Late posting today. Was in the office and was very busy for a Friday. Got lots done so feel quite accomplished 😁 Hardly anyone there though it was very quiet, no one in from my team so hardly spoke to anyone. Only did 6 hours but got lots done.

I was very late leaving home this morning and passed Primark just as it was opening at 8am so popped in. I needed some new slippers, socks and a few other bits, then ended up picking some sweatshirts and joggers up for Mr SA.

Then I picked up a free coffee from Cafe Nero as had a full stamp card. Can’t believe the price is now £3 for a large black Americano 😱 Glad it was free.

Reasons for leaving late today included Mr SA shutting the younger cat in the living room overnight so had to clear up wee 😬 Plus hanging out washing, although glad I did this as the weather was lovely.

Bought some kale from Lidl that is definitely off, the smell is horrendous 🤢 Not out of date and looks fine but the smell 🤢 Will be returning it tomorrow.

Enjoyed the Strictly launch show tonight and won the battle with Mr SA who wanted to watch football 💪

    Happy Saturday 🥂

Mr SA isn’t well, he started feeling rough yesterday. Hopefully it’s not Covid 🤞If he’s still bad tomorrow then will make him take a test.

Ended up throwing the rotten kale in the bin rather than return it as the smell is so bad I don’t want it anywhere near me. I’ve double bagged it and put it in the bin but you can still smell it. I left it outside overnight and you could smell it the minute I opened the door 🤢

Did a live WW ClubFit class then took the dog on the park for a run. Just went to the local shops, picked up a paper and some reduced Indian veggie snacks that will go in the freezer to use as starters when it’s curry night. Also bought 3 books for £1 from the charity shop, as if I need more 😬

Thank goodness I have a refund for the returned pond filter. I was getting quite concerned about how long it was taking.

It’s quite sunny here so another line of washing dried.

Tonight’s dinner is mushroom burger, wedges and salad. Prosecco has been in the fridge since the crack of dawn. Really looking forward to Rylan on the radio this afternoon and Strictly tonight 💃
