We’re finally back home. All his tests have come back clear. Thank you everyone for your good wishes.Of course it’s set SIL off on one about us moving to a bungalow. She mentioned one for sale on her road then had the cheek to day we probably wouldn’t be able to afford it 😡 I don’t want to live near her, I really don’t like the area she lives in, it’s a bit rough in my opinion, our area is much nicer. Told her I like where we live plus we’d never be able to get a house with so much privacy and large grounds elsewhere without paying a fortune. End of story.I don’t feel quite as tired now we’re out of the boiling hot hospital although it won’t be a late one tonight that’s for sure. The corridors were packed with patients waiting on trolleys. They said it was a backlog from the Bank Holiday but surely you don’t plan to go to A&E 🤔
Mr SA has had his lunch and gone to bed.So not a NSD bus fares to the hospital and taxi fare back.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Glad that you're home OK. Hopefully you can chill out for a while.Don't know where SIL is coming from... how will a bungalow stop him from falling over in the bath????I know you love your soak in the bath but is there space anywhere for a small wet room?I Believe.....

I was thinking more along the lines of what my mother had when her balance getting in & out was really bad. You sat on it legs outside the bath, then turned 90degrees, then lowered into the bath & then do in reverse to get out. Then I wondered if he would actually use any of these aids. Anything that makes your life easier & less worrisome.

Not without major building works/expense. When we had the bathroom remodelled I asked for a separate shower and bath. I was prepared to have a half sized bath, but they said not enough room for both. I can’t give up my bath, it’s one thing I really enjoy. He’s perfectly ok getting in and out of it most of the time. What needs to happen is for him to stop taking showers at 1am when I’m fast asleep. I think we still have the bath board I used when I broke my ankle, if so will get that back into action and also see if there’s anything else that would help.Chrystal said:Glad that you're home OK. Glad to hear you are both safely back home. I think you both need a restful evening with some relaxation. Hospital visits are always stressful, especially unplanned ones.

Sorry to hear you had such a horrendous night. I hope all's peaceful now and you can relax a bit.
I remember Bank Holidays do create a pressure on hospitals, something to do with people having more accidents when out of their normal routine, I think.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
