Thank you all. I’ve had a lovely day putting the world to rights with Prosecco 😆
Unfortunately it took me over 3 hours to get back home from hers. Waited over an hour for a bus from her village, still didn’t arrive so had to go back to her house and get a taxi from there to the nearest train station, she had to lend me £10 for the fare as I had no cash on me. Train to the city centre then bus home as it was dark by then. Didn’t get home until 7.30 and it cost me almost £20 for the return journey. The train and bus were packed solid 😩
Mr SA had a fall in the garden and kept phoning me. He’s ok but a bit battered and bruised.
And, for some strange reason, DD has hoovered and mopped the kitchen and cleaned the bathroom. Not sure if this is connected to Mr SA’s fall 🤔I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Glad you had a good day even if the journey home was awful and expensive.
Sorry to hear Mr SA has had another fall. As someone who does have falls they are always a shock and leave you shaken even if you are not hurt.
Don't knock the cleaning whatever the reason. 😀5 -
Glad you had a lovely catch-up with your friend, sorry to hear about the journey home and that Mr SA has had a fall.
Take care xx3 -
Happy Saturday 🥂
Today will be very busy. Got a very full laundry basket to wash/iron, lots of cleaning/tidying, I need to go to the big Mr T for cat litter and Wilko for houseplant compost and a big tub to repot a very large dragon tree. I also need to catch up on a lot of Spanish learning as I’ve fallen way down the league in the past two days.
Just remembered the charity shop is picking the bags up on Monday so need to get them ready. Maybe find a few more bits if I have time.
Oh and garden tidying/weeding needs doing.
Dog walking - might tie this in with the shopping this morning, kill two birds with one stone. The chap who did the bedroom is coming to quote for the living room refurb this afternoon. The trouble with having two days out of the house is now I’ve got to spend the next two catching up on chores.Tonight is curry night, beef for Mr SA and butternut squash dhal for me.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Busy day SA hope you get it all done .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1

Shopping done this morning. Spent a fair bit in Wilko on gardening stuff, bought loads of seeds.Quick tidy up when we got home then the builder came round just after lunch. Quote will be sent next week.Mr SA kept asking embarrassing questions like he always does 🤦♀️After he’d gone I noticed the patio doors were wide open, Mr SA had been in the garden, not closed them and the kitten was missing. After searching high and low finally found her rummaging about in a bush at the bottom of the garden. I had a devil of a time getting her back in the house, she was enjoying herself too much. I just couldn’t get Mr SA to understand she can’t go out yet, he just thinks she should be able to and I’m being cruel. I felt like throttling him 😡 The kitten is now crying at the door to go out after her taste of freedom.
Was just about to have a quick sit down when there was a knock at the door and it was the husband of my friend who passed away. He wasn’t sure if I knew and wanted to let me know about the funeral. He was so upset, only natural of course. Apparently she went downhill very quickly, her myeloma came back and really took hold of her within a matter of days. So sad.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Pleased to hear dd has been helping out with Mr SA. It must knock his confidence having falls like he does.
Your day put sounded great until your journey home…..public transport is going terrible. It’s highlighted it when we have been looking for campsites for the motorhome near bus routes. One site had a bus service 5 times a week at 6 something in the morning. When we recently went to Wales there were bus shelters but all the signage had been removed - has had the buses 😳 Not sure how folk without cars went on 😳😳
