ladyholly said:I have forgotten most of the makaton I learned at work.I once was forced to attend a team building at work which turned into a get at me event. I went straight home afterwards in tears as no one had said anything before and I just had the whole team criticising. I forced myself into work the next day (it was vey tempting to stay at home), the first thing my manager said was what did I think of it and I told her it was the most destructive thing I had ever done. She then said she was quite happy with the work I was doing that everyone was complaining about. Shame she didnt open her mouth at the team building. I then told her I would never attend another one so if she was planning on more I would have the day off. I have never attended another.

Re the team building, years ago my previous firm decided we should all be subject to a form of sitting around and what I construed as opening up to everyone with one's 'feelings'. I said as far as I was concerned my colleagues were my colleagues not my friends and I had family and real friends to confide in, not people I wasn't particularly close to and you could bet your life would repeat anything told in confidence anyway! Quite a few of us rebelled like this so the powers that be dropped the daft idea.....Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I think the best boss I ever had would be curling up in embarrassment at sitting in a room with us talking about our feelings. But then any man that could select a different bottle of decent wine for 10 people for the Xmas dinner & get it right every time/year did not need us to tell him anything. His wife worked there too so that could have been really interesting.

Morning, happy Friday eve 🎄
This time next week I'll be breaking up for Christmas. Really looking forward to logging off until next year.
I shall go out for another walk shortly when it gets light, it did me good yesterday. No shopping though planning to hit NSD 6/10 today.
I did a BSL course just over 2 years ago at work. A few of us did it so we could communicate with a deaf colleague. Of course none of us have seen her for 2 years thanks to Covid so I for one have forgotten most of it, which is a shame.
I'm starting to make a list of jobs I'd like to get done while I'm on leave because we're not going anywhere and we've not got any visitors coming. I definitely need to reorganise the kitchen cupboards and the dining room cupboard for starters.
The dog was crying at the top of the stairs, went to investigate, the kitten was blocking her path and she was too scared to pass her 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Thankfully the only type of team building events we have at work involve going to the pub. We have team meetings but if anyone criticised another person they would get hauled over the coals.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

I'm with the dog. That kitten definitely has an "I am the boss" look.

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy6
