We are not qualified to answer that here.  I would guess that the Inland Revenue would adjust your next year's notice of coding to collect the tax on that £50, but you would really need to ask the question where there are tax experts.

I did quite a few very well paid AI studies last year. I'm just wondering has anyone done one recently? I'm wondering whether you can only do so many then  its opened up to other Prolific users. Or if they have ended for now

I've not had any AI ones for ages. It may be that they have ended, or it may be that the researchers now want a broader range of participants.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Ive just received an email from Prolific saying I won’t be able to take part in further studies because my account has failed one or more automated checks as well as our manual review. They won’t give me any further information and I have no idea what I’ve done wrong. Anyone else had this who could shed some light?

Anyone make head or tails of the questions in this one? I gave up after 5 of the 15 questions as I felt I had nothing useful to contribute and was just guessing!

In this study, your goal is to predict how a large language model will respond to questions.

Your answers will help AI researchers study how well we understand large language models (LLMs). Our goal is to build LLMs whose behavior is easier for humans to generalize. Thank you for considering!

I've downloaded the app and signed consent form, but the task isn't there.  I've emailed the researcher.

Has anyone ever done these? They pop up a lot but the thought of video chatting with other users puts me off. It's a good payout if they're not awful to do though 😅

No!  I feel exactly the same as you and just delete when I see them.

Yes, me too. I'm not set up for video chatting on my computer (no webcam), so I couldn't do them in any case.
