Yes, twice so far - the second time quoting the Prolific help page that says in-study screening is not allowed. No reply yet. I've done it twice before, like you, and had the rejection removed pretty swiftly in both cases, but I've been waiting over a day this time and heard nothing back. Next time I will directly threaten to report the study and see if that stirs them into action.theonlywayisup said:
Have you messaged the researcher? If I have issues like this I usually message with a c&p of the rules or a link to them and ask them to either reassess my answers or to return the study to me so that I can return it back, which removes your rejection. If I don't get a response I tell them I am giving them seven days to respond or I shall refer it to Prolific. I have only done this twice and each time the rejection was removed.olliebean said:Anyone do this one and get rejected?Understanding Deception in ChatGPT Responses

This was a bit odd because the study itself stated that it comprised a screening survey, which was unpaid, and a main survey, which was paid £2. They obviously have misunderstood how that is supposed to work on Prolific, and when I failed the screener I expected to be asked to return the study - which I would have contested as I had already spent 5 minutes on it and it's against Prolific's rules. But instead I was given a completion code, so I submitted the study and thought I'd be paid after all.Now I've had my submission rejected, for the following reasons:"- Gave intentionally low-effort responses- Didn't answer essential questions"I'm really annoyed about this as I have never intentionally spent less effort on a study than I felt was required, and I answered all the questions I was asked. I responded to the researcher's rejection message this morning, asking them to elaborate and explaining what had happened, and that perhaps they had misunderstood how Prolific works, and that I certainly didn't appreciate being accused of half-arsing their study when I had done nothing of the sort. I haven't received any reply. Apparently I have to wait a week before escalating it to Prolific. It feels to me like the researcher made a mistake in setting up their study to give completion codes to participants who had been screened out (and didn't realise that in-study screening is not allowed), and is trying to get out of paying screened-out participants by rejecting their submissions. So I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who had the same experience. After hearing nothing back from the researcher for well over a week, I contacted Prolific about it a couple of weeks ago, and today have received notice that the rejection has been withdrawn, my submission has been approved, and I have been paid in full. Result!(Still no further contact from the researcher, btw.)1 -
July was a good month for me, earned over £100 despite having returned quite a few high paying studies on the grounds that when I saw what they involved I just couldn't be bothered.

Same for me including no reply. I returned it eventually.dizc7 said:
Exactly the same here - I met all the qualifying criteria, ticked the correct boxes and then was told I wasn't eligible. I've messaged the researcher but not had a reply yet, but of course it's timed out now.elsien said:£8 study from Oxford university. Over 18 - check, working audio - check, chrome - check, political beliefs - check.
Hit all the criteria in the blurb. start the study, answer a few questions then get told I'm not eligible, thanks and goodbye.

You're welcome! Looking at that post again, I see it is littered with typos, so I have just corrected it, in case anybody else finds it useful.

Did anyone do this one?
Rating Sentence Vividness
By mail.mcgill.ca£2.25 • £12.54/hr10 mins1 placeIn this study, we are asking participants to rate the vividness of a sentence.
The study consists of 50 slides, each taking around 5-8 seconds to complete.
Thank you so much for your interest in our study.
I have had a message from the researcher:
- Hello there! I'm so sorry, but we weren't able to receive your data from Pavlovia (the site used to run the study). Would you happen to have the data from the study on hand (it would have been downloaded as an Excel file)? Sorry again, and all the best! Please return the submission
This does not seem very fair, as from my side I did everything required. There were no downloads during the study. I've only got their word for it that they didn't get my data!0 -
I've just tried to submit a study and had a message come up to say the submission had failed. Another message told me that PA is experiencing some issues today.

Had similar earlier on a couple, but just got into one (Consumption of Green Personal Care Products) and successfully completed it, and it appears to be awaiting review successfully. So maybe they have resolved things ?DaveQ said:
