Deciphering a Mysterious Machine!
Just had this one also "Study full."
Then offered again as "New Study available on Prolific" but 'also' still already full:Deciphering a Mysterious Machine!
Just offered for the third time and, as before, Study already full.
Just completed two others, at a £7 rate for 15 mins or so.1 -
Thanks, theonlywayisup. I'm pleased you got two others. I must be out of favour today!
The above StudyDeciphering a Mysterious Machine!
keeps popping up every four or five minutes. I am trying to ignore it but, if I don't click to see what the (alleged) new study is, I may miss one (not so far!) where there are places available.0 -

I had to return it as it was full1 -
That's what bothers me, theonlywayisup. Attempting to start, after 'seeming to' successfully reserve a place then, informed that the Study is full and being asked to Return the Study.
When asked to give a reason for Returning the Study I always (unless there is another reason) choose 'other' and inform Prolific again, that the Study was already full and I was asked to Return it.
I'm sure Prolific know but it seems to be a recurring problem. I think I mentioned above that my 'worst' day was four studies in a row all had to be Returned as already full - after being allowed to reserve a place:
e.g. "Experiment not available This experiment is currently full. Please cancel the task on Prolific."
Update - will you believe it?? This same Study has, again, just popped up with places available. I'm too apprehensive to even click on it in case, as before, I am allowed to reserve a place only to be asked to Return it.
I understood that, once a Study has been Returned, it is not possible to have a second attempt. I wonder why, if that is right enough, I keep being offered a place on this same Study.
Same study, again, has just popped up as being available.1 -

betting on uncertain rewards

£1.30 • £9.14/hr8 mins67 placesIn this study, you will assess the value of some monetary rewards.Thought I would get this one done before I shut prolific down at 16.00 hrs, but after the instructions there were some comprehension questions.I got the first question wrong and so was asked to return the study which I did, but the researcher is supposed to give two chances to come up with the correct answer. The below is taken from the Prolific researcher help pages:'Participants must be given at least two chances to get a correct answer. These checks cannot involve free-text responses'Just be aware that you do not get a second chance if you secure a place on this one. My fault obviously but if we all stick by the same rules then we know where we are.Funny enough, I thought I had chosen the correct answer as well. Maybe they had enough participants?0 -

Anyone else having issues this morning - I can't get onto any studies and getting this error message '
Error
PEC-SUB-0002: We are sorry but we could not create your submission at this time. This may be due to your current network connection. For more information please see our help centre article.
I'm on an O2 4G network, so shouldn't be any issues as I can't access any studies via my home internet connection as Prolific don't seem to recognise my ISP (G Network).

I have been getting this more regularly since I changed from EE to Vofafone. I have to do multiple resets of my router to generate an IP address that Prolific 'likes'.Yesterday took 6 or more attempts and is very frustrating.Looks like Prolific are doing IP range bans which is quite common on some sites I have used in the past. The answer with those was to use a VPN to get past the ban, but of course DON'T do that with Prolific. If you contact Prolific support they will send you a template response but nothing will change.I have experienced this on Prolific for 4 years or so and has got worse since I changed providers, All OK this morning thankfully.0
