That sounds like a very real possibility, thanks DiamondLil.  After making my post, above, I reserved a place on another study and, on that Study the little circle went round and round trying to access the first page of the Study.  Then a completion code appeared and I had not even reached the first page.

I seem to be stuck in a loop, can’t complete or cancel one I am on. Just getting error messages 

I had that the other day on one, it eventually let me log out and back in again, but it was stuck like that for ages.

Another one I haven't even started has now got a completion code without me even opening the study       

Similar for me too, I just complete one about book content research, completed it, got code entered it and its not on my submission list. No messages about any rejection, cancellation or errors.

I’m having issues with it as well.

It kept giving me a completion code before I had done the study, then they put in a different completion code to the one that the study said, was correct, then it wouldn’t let me do anything else, because it said that I’ve got a survey in progress when it wouldn’t let me put the correct code in. 

Given up for now till they sort it.

I have just received an apology from a Researcher - although I did not complain.  I sent a message to say that I had received a Completion code but had not actually started the Study.

There was no title and, as nothing on my submissions history, I don't know which Study this Researcher is replying about.

It seems to be quite a muddle today - sounds as if for Researchers as well as for Participants.

I had this as well for the same study.  I completed the study, got a completion code, entered it and then checked my submissions which said the study was returned.

I have messaged the researcher and Prolific.

Yes prolific seems to have a screw loose today, completed one study that then promptly told me it did not exist.

I have logged out for now as I do not want any further issues have 3 submitted which I did not take and will not let me cancel and 2 completed that are not showing in my submission page 
I have contacted the 3 researchers and told them I will cancel the submissions when the site is working again 😳

Working fine for me today, done 3 today with no problems. Although I did have an issue a few days ago.

Not working for me either - had similar problems to others.  I think they've put all the options in a bag and shaken them up so it's pot luck what happens when you select a study!!!
