A STUDY ABOUT ORANGE JUICE 0526I
By Manxin Wang
£0.15 £2.01 hr 4 min
I woke to find this Study waiting for me this morning and, although only 15 pence, I was pleased because so many of the Study notifications for me recently have been full when I click to start.
This Study was a bit, not sure what to say but, ? odd. I would say that the main subject was probably not Orange Juice 05261 at all. I think I managed the attention checks O.K. but:
In one of the tasks the instruction was: "Please the Q's below." It did not say 'Do or do not answer the Q's below ...' and, because an earlier question in the Study had the instruction: "Do not to answer the Question below" I was unsure how to proceed at that Task. I made the decision to answer the questions at Task although the instruction was not clear.
On completion of the Study I received no completion code and had to submit with "No Code."
I hope my submission is acceptable. I did my best but thought it was not quite straightforward.
I wonder if anyone else thought this. When I clicked to Start the Study there were over 70 places available.

I did this one three times 15th and 16th May, and at least two were approved immediately INCLUDING bonuses, which rather gives the lie to the idea that the bonuses were going to be determined by how convincing other people found my attempts.Julezy101 said:Imitate emotional speech (INVITE ONLY). Is anyone missing any bonus payments from these studies? - I notice there's quite a few I've not had any bonus paid yet, some were from a few days ago.

If I was a researcher I think I would be inclined to suspect that people doing studies on their phones don't pay as much attention, just because it enables them to be multi-tasking. Would make an interesting study in itself...elsien said:

got a message that said i pressed the escape key after what was probably near the end and threw me out of it and then automatically restarted the study from the start. I gave up and returned it as im not going through another 40-50 minutes for a repeat.0 -
I never touched the Escape key (even though it is sited right next to the 1 key I was using) and had no problems. In fact, I found the study huge fun!

It kicked me out too after 35 minutes. It was a difficult task and said I didn’t score highly enough. I scored 75% which seems ok to me. I submitted with no code as very frustrated.sebloak said:L2P Game2

Yes I'm not sure about how they work out the bonuses on this. I got paid bonuses for 28 out of the 30 I did and queried why I didnt get the other 2 - they said some people are not good enough to imitate the voices. My submissions were all of a good quality and similar standard so asked them to review the missing 2.Sapindus said:

I did two in a row and got a 4p bonus for one and £1.58 bonus for the other. I’m fairly sure there wasn’t a huge amount of difference between them.I also accidentally returned one after I’d finished it, but after messaging the researcher, they have paid it, and given a bonus which I was pleased by.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I do them on my phone because I’m not going to crank up the laptop for a 30p study. I might also have the TV on while using either. At times when I’ve been using the desktop I’ve had emails pinging up, and occasionally flipped to another tab to check something, so I think it’s just as easy to distract yourself, whatever you’re using.Sapindus said:

Did they ask you to return it? I'm pretty sure not doing well enough on a task is insufficient grounds to reject a study submission. If they only want people who can score above a particular threshold, they should have a shorter screening study to test people's ability before inviting them to the longer one.littlegreenant said:
