It got taken down pretty quickly by Prolific's mods (it was in r/ProlificAc which is their support subreddit). Anything on there mentioning AI studies gets removed pretty quickly, presumably because the researchers want to keep them confidential and Prolific don't want to upset them as this must be a good money-spinner for them.

Many thanks for giving us that info...it seems a rational explanation.  Those surveys have been coming through in shoals all day long for me, daren't admit how many I have completed, (properly I might add, no cheating!).  I wonder how long they are going to be running them and where they are getting the funding from??
I think they're funded by one of the big tech companies developing a rival to ChatGPT - you can tell which one by googling the name of their AI engine (which they tell you at the start of each study). Would explain how they've got so much cash to splash around!
  • Hi I just completed my first survey and it asks for a completion code. Where is that

Hi I just completed my first survey and it asks for a completion code. Where is that
It would normally come up when you press submit -  some of them the code goes through automatically, some of them you have to copy and paste. A very few don't give a completion code and then you have to log it as a nocode. Sometimes the code shows up in the address bar of the survey as well.
You need to be careful because some surveys insist on you going through a final link to properly submit the survey  and if you don’t do it you don’t get paid.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

It's normally something along the lines of C5PL0D25 (Edited from an actual code, keeping the alphanumeric stuff)
  • There was no code on the first one I did I contacted researcher and no response so I just typed in no code

That may well work, but the usual format is NOCODE.  There is a link for "I didn't receive a completion code", and it generates NOCODE in the appropriate field.
  • On the studies page do you need to keep refreshing or do surveys just update themselves

The page refreshes every couple of minutes.
Annoyingly now, though, it looks like you have to do a hard refresh for the balance to update. At least on my desktop that's the case - the balance appears smoother now on my phone
