I got that message on that one as well.olliebean said:A study about grocery shopping

The first page of this one asked me to agree to a fairly standard handful of conditions; on doing so, the second page told me: "As you do not wish to participate in this study, please return your submission on Prolific by selecting the 'Stop without completing' button." Not much I could do about that, so I had to return it.A study about grocery shopping

This is exactly what happened to me and I did not hear anything after contacting The Researcher. I had no option other than to Return the Study. I let the Researcher know but there was no option to let Prolific know why the Study had to be Returned.
I am certain that I did not say that I did not wish to participate.0 -
There is a Help form at https://participant-help.prolific.co/hc/en-gb/requests/new.Deleted_User said:... there was no option to let Prolific know.

Thanks very much MollyR. The option to explain used to be there immediately after Returning a Study but perhaps this is one of the recent changes. Thank you for the link.0

I am really liking the AI ones. Just got £6.75 for having a 15 message conversation with an AI paid instantly. It did mention a bonus for high quality but not sure that I'll get that - they wanted you to give a thumbs up or thumbs down for the quality of the AI messages and I couldn't see the mechanism for doing that at all. I messaged but didn't get a reply before the study was finished. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I did this one too Elsien. The only study I've had today. The thumbs up and down were next to the AI's response. They were greyed out so they were a bit difficult to see. Once you clicked on them they turned blue. I'm not sure about the bonus either but always hopeful.elsien said:I am really liking the AI ones. I had just one Study yesterday (an unsuccessful one) MrsWhippy, then this one came up just now:
Have a conversation and generate training data for an AI
By Joe from Pie.
After choosing my topic and asking AI my first question this notice came up: "If your partner doesn't respond within 5 minutes, the conversation will automatically end and you'll receive a link back to prolific will full payment."
I was so surprised when, after 5 minutes, and no response to my question, a link arrived on screen to take me back to Prolific. There was a completion code and I was paid £6.75 immediately. This has not happened before and, of course is very much appreciated.
Has anyone else also had this welcome surprise?2 -
Deleted_User - that was a great result for you! I had that notice come up several times but the AI always then responded within the 5 minutes so I had to do all 15 responses.Deleted_User said:I had just one Study yesterday (an unsuccessful one) MrsWhippy, then this one came up just now:Have a conversation and generate training data for an AI

I was so surprised, MrsWhippy. I've never known anything like it before and, £6.75, really generous. When I was waiting for the five minutes to be over I was busy thinking what questions I could ask and, before I knew it, the link came up to go back to Prolific then the completion code and immediate acceptance and payment.1

I suppose the researcher is just as interested in comments the AI can't answer as the comments it can.Deleted_User said:I was so surprised, MrsWhippy. These AI ones are great when they come up as they do pay generously and I enjoy doing them.4 -

Do you have a smartphone? I take photos of the screens for attention checks. Just thought it might save you a bit of time 🙂yupiteru said:I copy and paste as I go along in case of memory attention checks.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer to use an old Dell laptop that I keep specifically for Prolific use. This keeps everything separate from work etc.I have a smartphone (Huawai P20) which has quite a large screen but with my 'sausage fingers' I struggle a bit with studies on it.I prefer copy and pasting as I go along as this has a secondary benefit of it being very unlikely that I will be criticised for completing a study too fast
.It is not possible to copy and paste with some studies, so I then use the Firefox screenshot tool and save to the desktop.1
