    Decision-Making Survey

    By pitt.edu

    This is an academic survey.

You will be asked to photograph an object and upload it. Thus, before proceeding, please ensure you are in your home and have access to a smartphone.

A bonus payment (of at least £0.5) will be granted to all valid responses.

Interesting idea for a study and I am glad that my flash works OK on my phone camera, as it was pitch black here when I took the photo of the object specified.

It did take a bit of hand acrobatics mind you, as you had to include one of your hands in the photo as well, I assume to prove that you did not download the image from the web, but as I discovered, my phone camera shutter button is not well placed for one handed operation.

It is 6.30 am at present and this is the second study completed this morning so far and I hope that the trend continues, as it has been very slow all week for me.

The only smartphone I have access to is my work one which I didn't really want to use, so I used my proper camera and it was easy enough to upload.

I have to say though, for reasons I can't share out of fairness to the researcher, that i really wish I had chosen something else to photograph!  Those who have done it can probably guess why!
I've had an email this morning - apparently I'm going to be paid £16 for a tatty sunhat that I spent £5 on originally.  That's a bit of a bonus!  (Shame it didn't go for the £100).

What a jammy sod, I got a 50p bonus!  Never mind, I have become quite attached to my tatty old baseball cap, we've been through a lot together, so I would only get upset if it left me.

£100 would have eased the pain a little mind you :)

I copy and paste as I go along in case of memory attention checks.

Do you have a smartphone? I take photos of the screens for attention checks. Just thought it might save you a bit of time 🙂

Yes well.  The closest hat to hand was my Morris hat (as in dancing).  I actually turned down a chance to sell it for £300.  I hope it appreciates how much I value it.

On the bright side, I passed the £1000 earnings from Prolific mark today.  I've been on it since 30th March 2021. 685 approved submissions.

Ooh very well done. :p There's hope for me then. Only just started with them last month, but did manage over £50 which I was well surprised at & very pleased with.  Can I just ask, how much time do you estimate you put into that?

Congratulations - but do read what Martin says about "Do I need to pay tax on online survey income?" at https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/make-money-surveys/ - especially if you are self-employed.

Yes - I'm not self employed so I'm OK, if I do get anywhere near £1000 for the year I will stop.

I really couldn't say I'm afraid.  I don't keep count.  I reckon on trying to do at least one study a day, and it's my homepage so it is always there when I am browsing the internet.

Yes, that's my plan, always have it open when I'm online so I don't miss too many. Good luck with another successful 18 months
