I copy and paste as I go along in case of memory attention checks.

Do you have a smartphone? I take photos of the screens for attention checks. Just thought it might save you a bit of time 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer to use an old Dell laptop that I keep specifically for Prolific use.  This keeps everything separate from work etc.

I have a smartphone (Huawai P20) which has quite a large screen but with my 'sausage fingers' I struggle a bit with studies on it.

I prefer copy and pasting as I go along as this has a secondary benefit of it being very unlikely that I will be criticised for completing a study too fast :) .

It is not possible to copy and paste with some studies, so I then use the Firefox screenshot tool and save to the desktop.
I wasn't suggesting using the phone for the studies, just to take photos of the screen in question, which can be deleted easily after the study has finished 🙂

I'm very pleased the researchers for these AI chatbot surveys have learned from their past mistakes. I just did one involving answering a series of yes/no questions on each of about 15 messages in an AI/human conversation, £5 for about 15 minutes. I remember attempting a very similar study in the past, where (iirc) there were 15 such conversations and the estimated completion time was a completely unrealistic 30 minutes - I returned it when it became clear it was going to take much longer. So it's good to see them being more realistic in their expectations, and more generous with their payouts.

Me too, I just find it annoying that one of the questions for each message isn't whether the IA actually answered the question!

Yep, I agree. Had a few where the AI has only answered a small part of the question. Maybe suggest that as feedback to the researcher - they do ask about how their studies can be improved.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That would explain why the "AI" often took so long to answer.  A computer program should be able to respond almost instantaneously, whereas the last one I did it often took two or three minutes - longer than I did for my questions!
Sorry MollyR, your comment did make sense originally but I don't want to get banned from Prolific!

OK, Sapindus, I've deleted my comment since you deleted your one to which I replied!  Now, if you delete your next comments, I will delete this one.

MEMORY CARD GAME  in 2 parts - Session 1   7 minutes.

After reading the instructions, and spending at least 35 minutes on Session 1,  I was timed out.  I know I am generally quite slow but, for me, it would have been impossible to complete Session 1 (Session 2 was to be at 2000 hours today) in anything close to 7 minutes.  I contacted the Researcher to let them know.

UPDATE  I was surprised to find that my 'Timed out' had been changed and submission approved with the hourly rate also being increased by 20 pence.

MEMORY CARD GAME  in 2 parts - Session 2   10 minutes.

I attempted Session 2 and continued to 'completion' after about 31 minutes.  I was 'Timed out.' (I really must be just too slow for this type of Study) but I had submitted with No Code before I saw that I had been 'Timed out.'   I'm not optimistic about having my submission approved and I contacted the Researcher to say that, if appropriate, I could change my submission to 'Returned' rather than be Rejected.

Material collection - Effect of voice similarity on decision making

A very nice rate of pay on this one. £4 for 5 minutes recording myself saying a dozen short sentences. I nearly passed it over because it's inconvenient connecting a microphone to my desktop computer and my housemate was in the room, but I noticed it could be done on a phone, so I just popped into my bedroom to do it.
