University of Amsterdam - Decision Making D008
By uva.nl£3.35 • £8.88/hr22 mins0 placesThis is a study of the University of Amsterdam on decision making. You will read instructions, answer comprehension and demographic questions, complete tasks, and take some decisions.
This study has two sessions:
- Today (27 minutes)
- On Thursday 29/09 (4 minutes). You need to complete this second session between 7am and 10pm, London and Dublin time.
You need to complete both sessions for your submission to be approved. The total completion reward for the two sessions will be GBP 3.75.
NOTE: We do not use deception. Every information we will give you in the instructions is true.
I found part one of this study very testing as there are instructions to be remembered with test questions after each section.
Luckily there is an unlimited number of chances (until you time out) to get the answers correct, which I did eventually and you can review the instructions again if you need to (I did).
It took me almost 50 minutes to complete, even when keeping notes, but it was a bit of fun with the potential for a £3 bonus at the end of the second session.
Got a message today (hopefully this issue will have been ironed out by the time you did it):
Dear participant, As some of you have reported, during the study on Thursday, there was a technical problem with our server. The problem was such that we are not able to use your data in our analysis. For this reason we cannot invite you to the second session of the study anymore. However, we have already approved your submission to the first session. We are sorry for the inconvenience and for the late notice. Unfortunately it took some time to identify which participants were affected by the problem and which ones can still be invited to the second session.Pointless study which seemed to consist of 5 minutes of the study and 25 minutes of reading overly complicated instructions.1 -

Prolific overturned my rejection from the study with the technical hitch a little while ago. Quite pleased about that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Yeah, I had several Thursday and Friday, barely anything a couple of days either side1
-
Had one on Saturday, nothing yesterday - but then I don't normally get any on Sundays and I don't check in too often anyway.
Already had 3 this morning, just small ones but it all adds up.1 -
All quiet for me - no available studies for four days now.0

I was so pleased (after such a quiet spell) to manage to secure a place on this study. After entering some details and clicking to proceed, I was being asked to Log in to Vimeo. I have not been able to do this as my Prolific email address and, using Prolific ID as password, are not being accepted.
I have contacted the Researcher but, so far have not heard from them. (I tried refreshing the page, opening the study in a new window and tried a different browser (Chrome and Firefox) but, unfortunately, it made no difference. I could not get past the Vimeo log in window to access the video.
Is anyone having success in accessing the video after putting their details (age, gender etc) in, in advance?
After waiting for about thirty minutes I had to Return the Study. I am disappointed because I hoped to proceed - after such a really quiet spell.0 -
Same here Deleted_User. I can't get past the log in page for the video either. I have also just contacted the researcher but don't expect a response. It's so annoying when they don't format the studies properly.1
