''Group Investment''-game; Only starting 8:30AM BST(now) until 8:40AM (with bonus!)
By Behavioral Experiments£5.00 • £12.43/hr24 mins5 placesNote: The task has only been tested in the latest version of Google Chrome. It will NOT work properly on a phone or pad. Please do not accept the task unless your web browser will satisfy these requirements. If anything is off-screen try zooming out.
This task involves deciding how to allocate resources by clicking buttons in a simple game. In total, the task will take approximately 25-35 minutes. You will receive a base payment of £5 for your participation, but upon completion earn a bonus of an additional 0-6 pounds depending on decisions made in the task.
This is a multi-player game. Because of this, the setup of this study expects you to start right after you accept it. If you wait longer than 10 minutes it may not be possible to join the game anymore and you cannot participate in the study. If you decide to do the task you will wait in a 'lobby' website until enough people logged on to play.
To complete the game we ask that you follow the link below in a new window. Set your browser to full screen, and do not navigate away from the page during the ~25-35 minutes needed to finish it (let us know if it takes a lot longer). If you do not respond for a long period of time, you will see a warning, and then the game will "time out." If this happens twice, you will be removed from the game and will not receive a secret code.
Before the actual task, there will be a very quick (~20s) technical test to make sure your setup is compatible with the study.
At the end of the task, you will receive a "secret code" to paste into the platform as completion code. This is needed to receive credit for participating, and to make sure we give you the appropriate bonus amount. This number is unique to you so please copy or screenshot it.
8.30 on a Sunday morning and I was just about to go on a short bike ride to test out my new action camera when this study appeared and I could not say no to a fiver.I used a very old version of Chromium web browser which is the Linux version of Chrome and all went well. If it worked OK on my ancient Dell Vostro 1500 with 2gb of RAM running Linux Mint 18.3, then it will most likely work on anything.Study took around 25 mins to complete and was quite relaxing if a little tedious. However, I only earned a 35p bonus payment and I hope you do better if you manage to catch this one.50 mins, that's interesting. Usually takes me longer than most with my old laptop.Just been paid and got a £1 bonus not 35p for some reason, not complaining obviously.1 -

it depends I guess, if there really were others in the same "group" as you then maybe they were just being very slow at answering.
To be fair to the researcher, they paid me the extra time as a bonus and very quick payment so - for those who havent done it, a definite go. But...get yourself a coffee
Yes that's probably correct, I must have just been lucky. Good of the researcher to pay you for the extra time.

Studies for consumers
By Lukas Maier£0.90 • £6.43/hr8 mins0 placesIn this survey, we will ask you to generate some ideas and to give us your opinion about a new product.Appears to be three short studies in one, of course that could just be part of the plan. You have to come up with some ideas and opinions at first, that took me a little time to think about and then give an opinion about a product in the last section. Not sure how long it took as my browser (Firefox 104.0.2) crashed half way through and it took forever to reload. Then when it reloaded it lost what i had typed so had to do it again - how I laughed.

The Garden Game - learning study

Anyone else get this one - really long and boring study selecting one of two flowers, some you got a 'bonus coin' on and some you didn't. 8 rounds to get through, but I did them all and was told I got 107 bonus coins and then nothing, a completely blank white screen. After a few minutes I pressed refresh and it went right back to the start. There was no way I was starting again so I pressed complete without a code and sent a message. I hope they got something and I get paid or that was a complete waste of 45 minutes.1 -

It doesn't currently seem to be possible to give a reason when cancelling participation in a study. Instead I just got a screen saying "This typeform is now closed." Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.Same result when trying to report a study, incidentally.1

A Lunchtime survey on consumers' work behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic 0921-1
By life.hkbu.edu.hk£1.00 • £15.19/hr3 mins62 placesThis is a survey about your work and shopping behaviour during the pandemic.
Due to the nature of our research, the survey is only available during lunchtime (12:15-13:45) on workdays (Monday to Friday). If you clicked the link at other times and cannot access the survey, we would really appreciate it if you can come back during the above mentioned period of time.
I attempted to complete this study at 13.17 on Tuesday afternoon and on the first page received a message advising me to try again between 12.15 to 13.45 Mon to Fri and access was not allowed outside of these times, all a bit odd seen as I met the time and day requirements.
Maybe they were working on Hong Kong time which is 7hrs ahead of BST?
I tried a few times and then messaged the researcher asking for clarification and after waiting about 20 mins for a reply, I gave up and returned it and received the 'This typeform is now closed' message, so was unable to explain why.

Otherwise I'm in the tumbleweed zone again at the moment. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

Otherwise I'm in the tumbleweed zone again at the moment.I eventually received a message from the researcher stating 'we failed to sync the timezone of the Qualtrics questionnaire with the Prolific platform' and 'The study will be launched again and hope you can see it and join this time'. No indication of when though unfortunately. It has been steady for me but not exceptionally busy. I have been away from the computer everyday this week for a number of hours and today will be the same most likely, but maybe I am not missing much anyway by the sounds of it.I cashed out £25 yesterday evening so my curry is secure if nothing else
