Nothing for me today either. I assume August is a slower month than most because of holidays and all that

Same for me - no studies.  At least it seems to be quiet for most of us.  I wonder if it will be quiet for most of the time now that Universities are going on holiday.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance; at least now I know that it's not just me! I received my first rejection recently (for a study that I couldn't even access!) and so I was worried that had affected my eligibility for studies. :)

I would query that rejection with the researcher and, if no joy, then with Prolific.  They can't reject you when you couldn't even access the study.  I had a similar rejection when the researcher said she hadn't received any data. I queried how she could reject it when there was no data - got no reply from the researcher so contacted Prolific and the rejection was overturned.

I also haven't had any studies today - in contrast to last week when there were lots.  Must be holiday time.

    Tobacco mass media campaigns survey

    Invitation Paragraph

I would like to invite you to participate in this research project. Before you decide whether you want to take part, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what your participation will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully and discuss it with others if you wish. Send me a message via your Prolific account to ask me if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information (but please do not provide any personal identifiable information).

What is the purpose of the study?

The purpose of the study is to look at how adults with and without mental illness who use tobacco and/or e-cigarettes react to different mass media campaign messages about using tobacco.

Why have I been invited to take part?

You are being invited to take part in this study because you have a Prolific account and Prolific have suggested that the study may be suitable for you. To take part you must:

    • be 18 years or older
    • be living in the UK

    • currently use tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes
    • use a device on which you can play YouTube videos with audio.

Half of the people who are being invited to take part will also have a history of mental illness.

Quite a brief study with most of the time being taken up with anti smoking videos so good pay all things considered as the time quoted was pretty accurate.

It has been slow on Prolific for me as well this last week and hopefully things will pick up in the near future.

In my experience you get these peaks and troughs and it is human nature to think that perhaps you have done something wrong or annoyed a researcher and they have complained about you, or you have been banned, when in reality it is most likely that you are a just experiencing the way prolific works.

I would normally return a survey in that instance - depending on how far through it was. But I have had ridiculous rejections - recently I had a message asking me to return a survey "because I had done a duplicate 6 months previously". I pointed out that I had done thousands of surveys and it was unrealistic for me to remember every one I did, and it was their responsibility to find that out before letting me do the survey. Eventually they paid up.

Analyzing problems with a failed Kickstarter project

In this study, we will ask you to analyze why a product might have failed to attract funds and customers' attention to become successful.

Quite a lot of thinking and potentially, typing involved, depending on how you answer the questions.  Took me around 25 mins or possibly a bit more as I forgot the stopwatch.

When completed I noticed a 14p adjustment had been added to the total payment.

In this study, we are interested in how people make decisions. If you agree to be in this study, you will play a decision-making game, as well as answer some brief demographic questions. The estimated time to complete this study is approximately 7 minutes.

I failed after three attempts to answer the questions correctly before the game so I had to return the study.

I am obviously having a bad day ha, ha.

After what seemed like a prolonged 'silence' with mostly Studies with just one place and already full, I was pleased to be able to start this Study this evening:

Learning how to navigate with pictures F3

    By Cognitive Variation Lab
    £13.50 • £8.55/hr94 minutes
It was not very difficult but was really tiring and I struggled to keep concentrating.  I can't think that I have earned any bonus but, if my submission is approved (it took me  about 86 (not the 94) minutes to complete, I'll be really pleased.

I'm usually quite slow so I hope I haven't (by finishing a bit early) missed anything out.

How did anyone else doing this Study get on?

Nice catch, I did not see that one unfortunately, but I usually shut down Prolific around 4 o clock so sometimes miss some decent paying ones in the evening.

I completed three and returned one yesterday and that is more or less my usual daily average for me.

A curiously specific study! I dont' qualify for it, I can't imagine many people do:
