The Human Flourishing Study: A multi-day diary study (with addtional bonus payments)
By uva.nl£15.00 • £34.36/hr26 minsAnyone else having problems with this one? I had to install an app on my phone, which is supposed to send me notifications for 10 short surveys every day for 5 days. But after doing the first short survey, the notification for the second one arrived late, and then I continued to get repeated notifications during the morning telling me this survey was still available, although I had already missed it. Now I can't even open the app to do the third survey. The reward is dependent on completing at least 80% of the short surveys, so it looks like I'm going to end up getting nothing, having spent 25 minutes doing the introductory survey on my computer. I've messaged the researcher, so we'll see what they say. If they don't offer me at least a bonus payment for my time spent, I may report the study to prolific.0 -
The app seems to be working now but it's still sending me multiple reminders for each survey, even after I've completed it and after the time it was due to expire. I'm going to soldier on for now, but the researcher has offered me £4 if I drop out, which I guess is fair enough.

Transdermal Insulin Patch Design
By cornell.edu0 placesIn this study, you will be viewing images of a prototype for an insulin delivery system that passes the drug through the skin, without the need for needles.£0.31 • £4.09/hr4 mins
This study was waiting when I logged on this morning. Asked for my e-mail address, which I supplied as I have six e-mail addresses that I use for different purposes, so no problem there.
Study was very brief, so the timing estimate was pretty accurate even for my slow pace.
Still underpaying though, so much for the payrise.

You have a Prolific e-mail address to use in such situations - it is displayed just below your Prolific ID as you are about to enter a survey, and you can always return to that page during a survey.Added: It is in the format of your Prolific ID followed by @email.prolific.co.3

In the last 3 days, I've only completed two surveys earning me a grand total of 90p. I've seen a few more that I couldn't get on but even so it seems very quiet out there or is it just me?1

I think it really is quite quiet, willowcat27, so it's not just you. There are some studies already full and, this morning, I have had just one study for one minute at 20 pence. Even so - at least I know I am still being offered some studies.Crimson.1

This week I have completed two on Monday, two on Tuesday and two today. Most of them are very quick and so don't pay a lot; the best was £1.25. On the other hand, all but one of them have paid already.

It has been a bit grim this week money wise for sure.I have been completing a few every day, but mostly low pay pretty short stuff.Highest payment was £2.37 and that was underpayed due to the time it took and should have received at least £3.00 in my opinion.Seems to be a trend amongst researchers to underestimate the completion time to keep the payments down.Usually I complete a few fiver plus studies during the course of the week but nothing yet so far. Keeping my fingers crosses for the big hit today1

I just find it easier to use one of my many G-mail addresses as I can remember them off the top of my head.I try to minimise changing pages during a survey, as I just know I will accidentally click the wrong thing or close the tab or some other disaster will occur - story of my life, like a Mr Bean movie.0

I’ve had quite a lot of surveys recently, been really active and managed to earn a fair bit.
Has anyone else noticed that the time Prolific says it will take to complete a survey is often significantly lower than that the study description says it will take? It effectively increases how much you earn per hour, but I wonder whether Prolific have actually put a lower number after they have deemed it will take less time or whether it’s a cheeky tactic to increase the theoretical payment per hour?
Also, does anyone else click ‘Not Interested’ on studies that don’t pay enough? I think it’s a good thing for people to click that for studies they won’t participate in."If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett
