Looks like I picked the right time to have £1.13 in my balance and hardly any studies coming in :)

I cashed out today when I heard the issue had been resolved and received the payment instantly
Had loads of study's pop up today only managed to get 3 of them and 1 I had to return as it proved too difficult for my aging brain.

In this study you will make quick decisions about noisy images that we will briefly flash on the screen. The study requires good eyesight, and involves flickering stimuli. The top performing 30% will get an additional bonus of £1.

End of study said press right arrow key for completion code but i never got one.

No, I didn’t receive a completion code on that one either. I just entered NO CODE and reported the issue. Hope it pays up!

Edited to add : my submission was approved by the researcher just now. Very quick 😀

    Learn some English vocabulary terms

In this approximately 45 minute study, you will learn the definition of some English vocabulary words and practice using those words in

As usual, I was in the bathroom and I heard the assistant with its croaky voice calling.  I rushed back to the laptop expecting to see the 'study full' as is usually the case when this happens, but no, I got a place.
I was surprised at how badly I did and at first thought there was a problem with the study, but no it was just me being thick.

If a study finishes before the end, for example because one of the participants in a group task has dropped out, but the other participants have done everything they were tasked with up to that point - is the researcher allowed to ask you to return your submission, so they can send you a partial payment via the bonus system, or do they have to pay the full originally quoted amount?
The study this happened with has now been returned and the partial payment via bonus received, but I didn't return it. I'm a bit confused how this has happened, as it's only a day since the researcher asked me to return it, and the Prolific guidelines for researchers says they should give participants 7 days to return a study before contacting Prolific to return it on their behalf. It's still only 5 days since I actually did the study. I guess this is a guideline that Prolific doesn't bother enforcing.

    Verbal and Numerical

    Reasoning

    By Nelson Furtado

This assessment is designed to measure individual ability in Verbal and Numerical Reasoning. The assessment is divided into two sections, and a brief upfront introduction with instructions for each section will be provided.

    £3.35 • £5.25/hr

    38 mins
Began this study and completed the first section OK but when presented with the numerical side of things in the second section, I returned the study after a few pages as I was just guessing the answers.
Figures have never been my strong point and I did not want to risk a rejection and also did not want to receive a payment for a study I did not honestly complete.

I got the numerical section first in this one. I think I did OK but the time limit meant I was having to rush a bit so I probably made mistakes. In the verbal section, I mostly only had time to skim the text. It seemed to me some of the answers were a matter of interpretation, rather than definite right or wrong. I'll be interested to see what bonus I get.
I think in your situation I'd have soldiered on, even if I was just guessing. The questions were deliberately difficult to complete in the time limits, and I'm sure the researcher will have factored in that some people will resort to guesswork.

Same, I got the numerical section first as well and by the time I had worked out the first two or three, I only had 30 seconds left on the clock so made educated guesses for the last two.  Also interested to see my bonus - if I get any at all!!!  I thought the verbal section was quite confusing in parts, there were a few questions that I was second guessing myself on - like you say it was a matter of interpretation.  By the end, I didn't know what to think - good workout for the old grey matter I suppose.

I've asked the researcher if they'd be able to share the answers for "Verbal & Numerical Reasoning" - not because I distrust the bonus calculation, but because I'd be interested to see how some of the verbal reasoning questions were interpreted. For example : one question talked about money, but the text referred only to a ransom. A ransom isn't necessarily money, so my reasoning was "Cannot Say" - I found a good few like that.
