There is no referral scheme for Prolific - it was discontinued some years ago. After a surge of new sign-ups about six months ago, they have introduced a waiting list to join:"In order to make sure our existing users can still take part in a meaningful number of studies, we've introduced a new waitlist for participants. Simply fill in the form on our sign up page and we'll let you know as soon as you're able to join. For more information, check out our blog post here."2

Thank you for this. I looked on the first page of this thread and it said to go via a link on the referals board. Really appreciate you taking the time to answer.MollyR said:There is no referral scheme for Prolific - it was discontinued some years ago. That was years ago, before they changed their recruitment system.

Hi all, did anyone complete the above study? I did, and they claimed that I had submitted an incomplete response and to return the study as it would better for me than for them to return it. I initially didn't suspect any issues and thought I must've missed one of the questions - they then re-sent me the link to complete it again and this time they stated I missed a different question!
Just wondering if anyone had completed this successfully or had a similar issue?

Nice little 12p survey this morning to choose a holiday gift for a non romantic male friend, choice of two horrid watches both at $120, most bizarre! "You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "2 "You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "2

I completed this and had a message from the researcher asking me to return it as I should have used the N/A for some of my answers I had actually put in the comments part that some of the questions were N/A as my last all inclusive holiday was before covid.Baylesy94 said:All inclusive holiday service qualityBy Hien Bui

I honestly did not notice an option for N/A must have had to scroll to the side to see it so I just returned it
Was a really badly worded survey the social distancing in the room question seemed odd lots of attention checks as well for the sake of 84p it wasn't worth the hassle2

The assessment is divided into two sections, and a brief upfront introduction with instructions for each section will be provided. £3.35 • £5.25/hr

Began this study and completed the first section OK but when presented with the numerical side of things in the second section, I returned the study after a few pages as I was just guessing the answers.
Figures have never been my strong point and I did not want to risk a rejection and also did not want to receive a payment for a study I did not honestly complete.I got the numerical section first in this one. I think I did OK but the time limit meant I was having to rush a bit so I probably made mistakes. In the verbal section, I mostly only had time to skim the text. It seemed to me some of the answers were a matter of interpretation, rather than definite right or wrong. I'll be interested to see what bonus I get.I think in your situation I'd have soldiered on, even if I was just guessing. The questions were deliberately difficult to complete in the time limits, and I'm sure the researcher will have factored in that some people will resort to guesswork.Yes on reflection I think you are correct and I should have continued. What I didn't state was that I had just got in from a bike ride and was quite exhausted and that contributed to my decision as well.In future I will leave Prolific alone until I've showered and had a chance to recuperate a little.

Thanks Allison - I agree not worth the hassle, but I definitely got the impression that they were trying to find reasons to dispute the payment if that makes sense. Will report them in any event.allison445 said:

In similar vein, I will not sign up for a study which requires me to read and memorise sentences for half an hour when I've just put hot porridge in my breakfast bowl.yupiteru said:In future I will leave Prolific alone until I've showered and had a chance to recuperate a little.
I think someone should do a study on how much participants need to be bribed with to eat cold porridge.3
