If anyone else did this study, did it take you a lot longer than the 5 minutes for £0.53 that they said it would? It took me over 20 minutes and there's no way it would be completed in 5 minutes. I've reported it as underpaying.

I don't know why this person is still allowed to use Prolific. I see more complaints about them than any other single person (variations on the name). I didn't manage to complete the study, it just went on and on asking very similar repetitive questions, badly phrased. Timed out. Annoyed!Value said:If anyone else did this study, did it take you a lot longer than the 5 minutes for £0.53 that they said it would? The same happened with me. Very very annoying. It must have taken us 30 minutes for it to time out. Can you put a ticket in? The more of us that do the better. I've only put a ticket it in once before, but they did pay out. I will know to watch for this researcher again in the future. Incredibly boring survey too.Sapindus said:

Took ages for me and was so repetitive. I have put a report in for being underpaid too.2

Yes I reported it. When I signed up it did say 24 minutes, for 53p, but I was bored and I thought maybe I can get it done quicker. I'm quite bothered by the repetitive/boring aspect of the questions as well, I'm struggling to think of a genuine research purpose for them.Racheljaa said:same happened with me. Very very annoying. Never been timed out before so very irritated to have that on my record now and hope it doesn't affect the studies I get asked to participate in!0 -
I've found that usually when they underpay, prolific often upgrade the pay after the project is finished. I think they will do something about this one so I shouldn't worry. I've only complained once before, when a survey was rejected and they made the researcher pay the agreed fee and removed the rejection from my account. They do seem to be very fair, fingers crossed.Sapindus said:

I completed this Study this afternoon:
"Explanatory Preferences - 1Hosted by GAIPS INESC-ID" and, after what seemed like a 'normal' submission, I received this message: "We have successfully logged your submission for this study. No further action is necessary. - followed by the Completion Code which I had received on submission at the end of the Study" I then clicked the "Back to Studies" link. (On completion I did click on the Submit button at the end of the Study.)I was surprised to receive this from The Researcher: "Hi! Thank you for participating. However, we regret to inform you that we did not receive your data. Could you please re-enter the form and ensure you click on submit at the end of it? Here is the link https://forms.gle/yS2YYp3zwL3hM29t7" - then another message: "If you followed the instructions, by clicking on this link you will have your previous answers saved on your cache memory and won't have to re-do them from scratch."At first he link did not work then when I tried again it took me back to start at the beginning of the study. Because I spent time and effort completing this Study to the end, and received the Completion Code, I really do not want to do it all again. On the scale of things I know this is minor but it is disheartening to be expected to do it again when I have already completed it and received a Completion Code.I have just received another message:"We are really sorry to hear that. We are not receiving your data, and we did receive them from other participants. Could you please access the link of the form and re-submit your answers? We will be happy to accept your submission once we will receive your data."If this has happened to anyone else, would you please let me know how you addressed it, or any opinions, please?Crimson

I had something similar a while back. I must have missed a link to submit the data, which was separate to the completion code.Deleted_User said:I completed this Study this afternoon:

I didn’t take in any further because in retrospect it was probably my fault for not checking properly that I hadn’t missed a link somewhere. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Thanks for replying, elsien. I did (second time) manage to access the link The Researcher sent me. It's to allow me to start the Study from the beginning and resubmit. I'm afraid, although I quite enjoyed the study, I have no heart to do it all again.Crimson0

Thank for for all the replies. I heard today that The Researcher for
"Explanatory Preferences - 1"
has approved my submission. It is good news and is also a reminder to me to be extra careful following the instructions carefully.Crimson
