I've just received payment from the failed attention check study, exactly 3 weeks to the hour after I did it. The email says my response has been accepted by the researcher. No further messages from him, though. I guess he decided it wasn't worth the hassle to argue the point any further.olliebean said:
No, I've heard nothing more about that yet. It's getting close to the 3 weeks or 22 days or whatever it is when I guess if he doesn't reject it I will get paid automatically. Should know one way or the other by the end of the week.elsien said:
Has Ricardo replied to you yet about the failed attention check one? I was a bit late getting my reply in but I have said I’m not willing to return it.olliebean said:I had a good one yesterday morning: "Visual categorization with incentives and losses" - £6.10 for a study that was estimated to take 50 minutes, but in practice took less than 30, plus I got a £10 bonus for it!

Hosted by Perception Mind£2.34 20 mins £6.89/hr 6 places remainingI got to what was supposed to be the last section of this study, then I hit a page where the image was cut off and there was nothing clickable, so I couldn't proceed with the study. I've messaged the researcher, hopefully they will provide at least a pro-rata payment for the sections I completed. Did anyone else have problems with this one?<update> I already received a response and a payment of £2.23, which probably covers my time pro-rata plus any bonuses I would have got from the sections I did. So I'm happy with that.1 -

Yeah…. No thanks.2 -
This is the lowest paying per hour I have ever seen on prolific saying that prolific will adjust the payment as it is well below the minimum per hour allowed.DontBringBertie said:Entrepreneurs£0.2819 mins £0.87/hr 34 places remaining

Did anyone else receive a message (via the messaging system on Prolific) early this morning asking them to click an embedded link to take a survey? It didn't say what survey, and didn't seem the normal way in which the studies are accessed. It may be a follow on from a study I previously took, but there was nothing to identify it and I thought it seemed a bit suspicious (there was a second link to click to "unsubscribe"). I have reported it, but am curious to know if others have received the same thing.0

Just came on here to see if this message was mentioned, please report back if you get a response, I suspect its from a survey we've already completed trying to get in a freebie!C_J said:Did anyone else receive a message (via the messaging system on Prolific) early this morning asking them to click an embedded link to take a survey? I did. And when I tried to click on the link it said I’d already completed the survey…C_J said:Did anyone else receive a message (via the messaging system on Prolific) early this morning asking them to click an embedded link to take a survey? I've just heard back from Prolific and it seems it was indeed the Researcher pulling a fast one and trying to recruit participants without paying anyone, but they messed it up anyway! Prolific have now put this Researcher's account on hold, and have asked that if anyone receives a message like this in the future please could they flag it up to them to take action.5
