Same problem here.  I've got two studies on my page - one is a follow up one, one is just a short new one, but both of them say I am ineligible to take part! Seems like it's a Prolific-wide glitch?

I also had to return a third one - I got through to the survey, which said "you must use Chrome" (I do).  It did a short test of my browser etc then said that it was incompatible and that I should return it!

Just completed a study, but NO submissions being shown.  Definitely looks like a glitch.

Prolific is currently telling me when I try to reserve a place in a study, "You are ineligible to take part in this study." Surely it shouldn't have appeared on my Studies page, then? There are currently two studies there, both giving this error, one of which says "1 place remaining" but doesn't seem to be going away - studies with only 1 place usually vanish pretty quickly - which makes me think maybe other people are having the same problem? (The other one is at 355, and reducing, but very slowly.)

I'm getting a few of those messages too.

Yes prolific have confirmed on the Prolific Reddit page that there is a problem they are aware of, and that the developers are trying to fix it (in fact thought they had fixed it).

Very frustrating though, I had the same part 2 of a couple of studies appearing last night and I was racking my brains trying to remember when I did part 1.

Just glad it wasn't my bad memory to blame this time.

This is infuriating. I just spent hours typing in all my details after signing up to Prolific, and now it will probably come to nothing because I don't have a passport or driving license.

Drop them a line (link is at the bottom of this page : https://participant-help.prolific.co/hc/en-gb/articles/360017282699-Verifying-your-identity-FAQ) and explain your situation. They may be able to verify your ID in another way?
I did email them, luckily a human being replied (which I wasn't expecting!) and long story short, they verified me manually. Very happy with their service. I recommended that they add the option of submitting your birth certificate plus a bill with your address on, as an alternative for those of us without ID.

I feel like that's a demographically unsound policy - certain demographics will be under-represented amongst people with a passport and/or driving license.
Absolutely. It outright discriminates against the disabled and those on lower income (less likely to need a passport if you can't afford a holiday). I have experienced this problem several times now and it seems to be getting more common.
  • I have already done £3.40 worth of submissions, and am very happy with Prolific.

I did the one about matching faces which was worth £2.50. It was about forensic face matching. I feel like I'm doing something worthwhile and contributing to science in a little way.

I have got over £2.3k on Prolific now - its generally and quite easily the best of the survey providers.

Although that said at this exact second it is fishing me off because its not loading properly....flippin IT.

I earnt another £1 earlier today while doing a Zoom meeting  :D  I had to imagine myself on a board of directors on big company and what that would entail and how I would behave. Took about 6 minutes (they said 4)
