You make a good point actually, I hadn't thought of that side of it and I wonder if prolific have considered it?

Prolific is currently telling me when I try to reserve a place in a study, "You are ineligible to take part in this study." Surely it shouldn't have appeared on my Studies page, then? There are currently two studies there, both giving this error, one of which says "1 place remaining" but doesn't seem to be going away - studies with only 1 place usually vanish pretty quickly - which makes me think maybe other people are having the same problem? (The other one is at 355, and reducing, but very slowly.)

At the moment there are 2 'sticking'. but they are both Part 2s so you will only be eligible if you did Part 1. If you did the Part 1's it might be worth messaging the researcher.
You're right though, they don't usually show if you aren't eligible but I think a few things are glitchy at the moment. One of those showing for me I've already done which is also odd.

Yes, having the same problem.olliebean said:Prolific is currently telling me when I try to reserve a place in a study, "You are ineligible to take part in this study." I'm in the same situation - one of them is an hour long, the other 2 minutes. I just returned them by clicking 'not interested', although it does feel a bit like a slight on my character! At least I now know I'm not the only one.olliebean said:Prolific is currently telling me when I try to reserve a place in a study, "You are ineligible to take part in this study." They're not even showing as having been 'returned', so suspect there is a problem with the website.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
Now that you mention it they are both follow-ups, and I don't recall having done the first part of either - so it looks like the glitch is in showing me studies I'm not eligible for, rather than not letting me do ones I am.

I'm having the same problems too with the same two studies. Must be a problem with Prolific app as the same issue happened to me last week when receiving a study invite.0

For me they are definitely both follow-ups. I think there seems to be a specific problem with these types of follow-up studies and hopefully the guys at Prolific are looking into this.olliebean said:Now that you mention it they are both follow-ups, and I don't recall having done the first part of either - so it looks like the glitch is in showing me studies I'm not eligible for, rather than not letting me do ones I am.0 -
That makes sense. Usually I get a personal email asking me to complete any follow-up surveys. There seems to be some sort of glitch in the system at the mo.olliebean said:Now that you mention it they are both follow-ups, and I don't recall having done the first part of either - so it looks like the glitch is in showing me studies I'm not eligible for, rather than not letting me do ones I am.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
Now confirmed in my case that one is a follow-up and the other study with one place was sent by mistake through a system error. Clearly both issues are glitches with Prolific app.albion22 said:
