 Why is the site so slow  . I find this anytime of the day or night. I am broadband connected and have no problems other than logging on this site. Once you are here then to either post or go to another thread it takes ages  .

Other people must be having the same problem?????

Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"
  • Hi Lara

1.5 million people get the email now so this does affect the site speed when it goes out I'm afraid
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

You may attempt to send the e-mail to 1.5 million but I'm sure than 1.5 million don't actually receive it.

Probably victims of your own success!

I've notice the site being pretty much constantly slow now for a few months (good/bad days etc), but with thousands online it's to be expected I suppose, I hope you have plans to upgrade your connection to the web? ;)

I think staff at mse towers are watching too much web tv (heaven forbid its p0rn) that is sucking up all the bandwidth ;) only kidding

Yes it is slow for last few days, its unbareable at times.
  • Like any commercial website, Martin & Co have to decide whether the cost of increasing capacity to avoid the 'go slows' is justified in terms of the potential extra revenue.

They may be in discussions with their hosting company even now!
  • Lets hope so. very slow.
I was thinking it was my new laptop.
Happy to hear it's not just me.

We've got more new servers coming; the problem is that the forum is hugely interactive with people posting things up and down all the time on large threads - so it is a massive drain on tech resources when there are 7000 on here.

The new servers should help, but they need optimising so it takes time; we're constantly tweaking and upgrading.

    Martin :)
