I have started using firefox for this site as IE7 was just too slow, i could fall asleep waiting for the edit page to open with IE7, with firefox it is much faster but there are times when it slows down a bit.

If IE7 is slow it is possible that the ant-phishing filter is turned on, this I believe reads the page and goes to a site to look up to see if any links have been reported as suspect. This could be the reason why it is slow.

You might also like to try switching off the Tabbed browsing in IE7 as for every TAB window you have it uses more memory, so if your memory in the computer is not that large then this will also slow down the system.

  • I just discovered the anti-phishing filter on IE7 yesterday, normally use Firefox, and it definately kicks in on MSE and needs turning off as that speeded things up.

A.Singleton, if you check Webbie's post you'll find he asked for ISP and location :)
