Another good game also is doughnut eating. Either you can eat a sugared doughnut and the winner is the person who can eat their doughnut the fastest without licking their lips.
Or... you hang up a line of ring doughnuts up and the kids have to eat them off the string eith their hands tied behind their backs. If the the winner is the first to finish without dropping the doughnut on the floor. If anyone's falls on the floor then they are out, and the doughnut goes in the bin.
If you do try this game though, make sure you buy ring doughnuts and not jam doughnuts, like me OH bought for dd's 8th birthday. It was so messy:eek:0 -
A quiz is a good quiet game to have before tea, with the topic of kids TV or pop music- whatever they are into. you can do the Questions on A4 paper and stick them round the room to make it a bit livelier and have some dquestions as simple anagrams or sums(add the number of teletubbies to the number of candles on birthday childs cake) This used to be very popular at my kids parties-we used to give a tiny prize for completing all the Questions and a proper prize for the winner and runner up.earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0

This is a messy game but as long as it is not a pretty dress occasion then you'll b fine!!
In teams each child gets a blob of nutella on their nose and the first person in the team gets a piece of cotton wool (I think U've guessed where this is going!!). They stick it onto the nutella and have to pass it to the next person. Not hands allowed!! Very messy but very funny!! Baby wipes at the ready.
The Flip the Kipper is a Great game.
Another team game, each player gets a straw, put it in their mouth and the 1st person gets a polo they then have to pass the polo from straw 2 straw again no hands allowed!!
If I think of any more will post again

Has anybody got any good ideas for a party for a 3 year old but with guests ranging from 20 months - 4 years old. I'm worried about them getting bored so would like some entertaining ideas, there will probably be about 8 littlies?
Thanks!0 -
Hi Folks
Many thanks for everyone's responses, I had fun reading them all
DD party went well - considering the disco never turned up, all my plans totally went out of the window, and I went to pieces. If I had a bottle of vodka with me, I would have been in a corner drinking it. And not surfaced till the last child had gone!
Luckily the mums there helped out and was such a great support. One mum even rushed home to fetch her kareoke machine, as my little stereo could not be heard for the noise from the children.
Anyway the games played
The balloon game - 2 teams passing over head and thru legs
hedgehog game
pass the parcel
pass the hats
musical bumps
musical statues
best boy girl dancer
I did have a list of other games to play - which sadly (like I said) I went to pieces and totally lost the plot. So they never got played.
The kids really enjoyed themselves, and even after explaining to the parents - it turned out great
So thankyou all so very much for your wonderful suggestions.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Does anyone know of sites where I can print off party invites?
I have looked but don't seem to find any decent ones or they charge money.
Also if anyone has any ideas of things to keep them busy for the evening with something a bit different. We have a chocolate fountain which went down very well last year and they will have a karaoke machine which they can see themselves singing on. Also anyone know where to buy Karaoke CDs from?
Remembering 13 year old girls are nothing like us oldies were like at that age and I am thinking of doing a pass the parcel with something like a L'oreal mascara as a prizeNot in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

Hi magnolia,
You should get more help with this on the Families board, so I'll move your thread over there.

Maybe a baking party where they all get a bit of dough to make their own pizza and while thats baking have some previously made fairy cakes to decorate. My 12yo DD and all her friends love to bake.earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0

My dd had a traditional children's birthday party for her 14th this year. We did play things like pass the parcel, but with really daft forfeits in each layer. We did a treasure hunt (people on here helped with the clues). Her friends have all said it was the best party of the year, which was a surprise to me, as I am not really a party animal/organiser.0
