Evening
Ironing basket emptied, although I was "extreme-ironing" in my vest top at one point as I got so hot. I'm seriously wondering if I've started the menopause - is it too early at 44?
Had a nap under strict instructions from DH as I was shattered. Strange dreams last night....again  However, I [STRIKE]got woken up by a huge wet shnozzer in the kisser[/STRIKE] woke up to a crick in my neck and a headache, so not sure how much good the nap did.
DH nearly had a meltdown in discovering BT had cancelled his BT sports package (their error) just as his football match was due to start. Huge hassle in getting reconnected. Missed the first half (and competitor goal) so he is in a grotty mood. His team have just equalised though so that might improve.
I'm delighted with myself as have found the wallpaper we both like online at £7 a roll cheaper (and free delivery) :j
House starting to come together. About bloomin' last, eh?0 -
Pigpen taking the kids to swimming lessons was one of my worst nightmares when they were little. You had to sit in the viewing area which was boiling, everyone was a bit nervous in case their child misbehaved or drowned, then there was all the rigmarole of getting them dried and dressed. Mine can swim but both hate it strangely!
DS has gone out to the pub and is staying at his friends. This is a huge development as for the past year DH and I have been turning out most weekends at 12.30am to pick him up, we live in the middle of nowhere, taxis are scarce around here and expensive. We are always happy to let teenagers stay here but other parents are always a bit more reluctant (which is maybe understandable).
This means I can drink alcohol. Yay!
Lots of laundry done today, all draped on airers in my office, been for a little run and taken some bags to cs. Quite a productive day!0 -
I don't mind taking them swimming.. we sit poolside so I spend half an hour trying to stop Twinkle leaping in the pool.. It takes 5 minutes to strip them for their lesson and I can dry and dress 3 children in 2-3 minutes more than it takes everyone else to do one.. Dot is just awful to do anything with.. I hate taking her anywhere she is just wired in a funky manner.
Anyway.. Twinkle is in bed already.
DW emptied and refilled
TD on
wet stuff all hung up to dry
WM done with OH's work trousers.

6 hour writing and recording session decluttered. The result was (drum roll - electronic, naturally, as it's impossible to fit drummers and their assorted gubbins into Tightfisted Towers) two whole, complete songs.
Himself is of the opinion that I am nowt to do with this band, other than providing guideline vocals. The person who has written both songs, made alterations I suggested, adjusted his singing technique as I suggested and has all the contacts is of the opinion that, as there are already sufficient guitarists, I am required as singer.
This could be interesting in how it pans out, particularly as I can play both guitar and bass as well as sing in tune in a key that blends really well with his voice. Unlike Himself, who prefers to yell in one key and whose voice goes completely to pot when he needs to carry a tune.
Himself is now clattering away in the kitchen grumpily.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I am in awe of the amounts of flying that you manage with your busy family pigpen as well as all the fleabay listing and just how you manage life in general! (My eldest has got used to me sniggering or suddenly laughing out loud, normally at the posts on here.. turd gets me every time :rotfl:)
In fact it's a real help to be able to read everyone's efforts and life challenges as it reminds me on a carpy cloud filled day that I'm doing the best I can with what I've got and that's ok!
Managed a whole house vacuum.

Visited my sister for a family meet up, yummy munch and afternoon of game playing, so I also decluttered some gloomy feelings

YL - enjoy your night off from taxi duty love. xx
Poor DS has a hacking cough and can't get to sleep. I've come up to bed as I can't settle downstairs - he's up and down out of bed, so I may as well be upstairs too! DH drinking rum and coke... he may regret that when he's at work at 7am
See you all in the morning xMFW

Evening all
Soo sorry to read your news Iona. Hope physio soon sorted for you. Have you looked at trying some ginger as I suggested - there's quite a bit about it online if you're interested.
Great news Roundtuit and hope the new food regime continues to help.
Doing well with the selling Pigpen and hope more to follow soon
I'm really chuffed that managed to complete the lists this week. It's becoming easier I think as the place is less cluttered now.
We went bitsa shopping today. Lots of little things needed topping up, DH wanted to look at shirts and trainers and I had a quick look for some new undies. Top-ups done not clothes - will leave for another day as probably going to Livingston outlet next month.
Spent a couple of hours helping DH sort out all his tools, including a big tool-box gifted to us when our NDN passed. Now sorted and put away tidily - rest (about half) going to an environmental centre near us, where they renew old tools at a workshop and pass them on to people who can use them, but can't afford to buy their own.
Hope you all enjoying the weekend and dodging the rain-drops
Hugs, sticks and spoons as needed

Sorry to hear that Iona; after 2 sets of physio and 2 injections, I'm still getting a lot of shoulder pain although in a different place from the injections so I deemed those to be worthwhile, but calcium deposits did show up on my scans so assuming I'm left with that as permanent arthritis.
Round glad doc helpful.
A fairly social couple of days with intermittent fluttering just to keep up.
Went to gym yesterday and appear to have decluttered another measly pound. Finished a report in the afternoon, made some biscuits as we were visiting a friend in the eve and I strong-mindedly made them half the size of usual so I could have 2 (or 1 and put 0.5 on mfp, which is in fact what I did).
Fed birds. Wrote down count for Big Birdwatch.
Went to Natural History Museum with friends today for the wildlife photography exhibition then met another friend for dinner.
Decided to get bags out from cupboard under eaves in preparation for our holiday, to find that *******rodents had chewed mine. Peeved, as it is only a few years old and was a decent one; Mr N's is about 10yrs old and unchewed. Little blighters are still scampering about in the loft every night wearing tap shoes, clearly immune to poison.
Tomorrow I'm reading at church - well hopefully going for a run first as we are going to dinner with friends afterwards. Then start organising holiday clothes and making strict lists for next 2 weeks as we've a lot on, and I've got 2 assessments booked for next week plus 3 to write up.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
iona[.b] and narco[/], I had horrendous shoulder pain about 3 years ago and eventually had one steroid injection into the back of my shoulder joint - it fixed the pain from that side, but didn't/couldn't touch the pain at the front - however, over the following year, whilst trying to keep it gently moving as much as possible and frequently massaging the painful bit (which Himself helped out with at times, spreading out to include my neck and under my shoulderblade - which found quite a few yelping spots and, according to him, quite a bit of gentle crunching and a few 'ting' sounds), a moulded neck pillow and lots of random pops and clicks, it's pretty much perfect now and has been for the last two years.
Granted, mine was definitely inflammatory rather than wear and tear, but I guess that's why I had to have steroids.
I won't be doing any handstands in the near future - not that I ever particularly wanted to attempt such shenanigans in any case - but my expected 'permanent pain' wasn't anything like it.
Somewhat miffed I'm still awake. He's been sleeping since well before midnight after complaining of his face hurting a bit. Against my usual grumpy cow persona, did a bit of face massage around the eyebrows, cheekbones and ears and he was out like a light. If I'd known I was going to still be up and bored by now, I'd have probably left him to suffer.
I did, however, suggest that it might be a reaction to the amount of dust/cat hair on the stairs and landing whilst he was still conscious. (why is there no devil smiley for such machinations?)
He's off DJing a kids' party tomorrow afternoon - if I'm awake, I'm trying to decide whether I CBA to trundle off to the blue and yellow land of bookcases to pick up a second moulded pillow for his benefit or to witter away some money on eyelash extensions, as the meds have meant that mine are looking a lot shorter and thinner than they've ever been before. And everybody who knows me would probably agree that I would benefit from something that makes me look a bit more awake. Or I could just go for a swim.
No cleaning or tidying features in this plan. Naturally.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
