I still think that the article should mention that if you've got kids (which many of us do) then you can't get flights for anything like what the offers and flightchecker are saying...

The article couldnt possibly cover every single situation.
(BTW £64 for a family of 5, and you are complaining ? I bet you couldnt drive to Newquay and back for that!)
In general, for the MAJORITY it works, as does Ryanair.Thats democracy, and the free market at its best.
Ryanair are on target for 60 Million passengers this year, so they must be doing something right.

Current £5 is not the best they have had - has been 1p total for flights (plus payment fee)

Best offer was 1p including payment fee! :p

Sadly no ... I may have had to pay a total cost for four nights 5* accom plus flights to Marrakech of approx £50 on that occasion ... ;)

But then there was Paris ... I may have had to pay £10 for that holiday!

We need to find more goodies for this summer! :p

Yes, if we needed to go to Newquay then that would be the cheapest way to do it. But we don't. The idea was for a cheap day-trip, and a treat for our eldest as he was too young to remember the last time we flew and is desperate to go in an aeroplane.

While maybe not a majority, I think that people with children form a pretty significant minority to be worthy of a mention on the article.

I've just booked flights to Shannon at the back end of June for me and Mrs Army! The grand total is a whopping £4.84!! 1p per flight and then £4.80 debit card fee!!

We're going to Ireland for less than a fiver! Wooo Hoooooo :D

I travelled a lot to Germany in 2006 making about 25 return flights from Luton with EasyJet.. Never a problem on any of the flights. No frills, sure, but no hassle either. I hate the way the airlines have started breaking down the prices.. but i suppose the less services you use the cheaper it costs you...

I made one flight for Stansted with RyanAir and had a small problem with the booking. The only way I could contact them was via a premium rate number and I was livid because you know how such a call stretches into a 5 minute call for £7.50. Overall the cost was very similar to the EasyJet one and the service was no different. Stansted just harder to get to...
  • Bummer!
Earlier in the year I bought 2 tickets to Finland with Ryanair for £100.
If I'd waited till now I could have got them for £60.

Now I'm miffed over the no refunds policy.
  • Came here from the Martin's Money Tips email newsletter. I am interested to note that while the newsletter item about "Bargain beer and cider..." carries the usual health warning about remembering to drink responsibly, there's nothing under the Ryanair item to remind us of the consequences of flying too much. Duty on aviation fuel, anyone?
