eeek! I've gone over budget.
I completely blame last weeks Greek Week splurge. this weeks shop came to £22.29 which takes me about £4 over with still 5 days to go
from next month things are going to be a little more expensive, my sister will be living here during the week as she has a work contract in Hackney. i'm thinking she won't cost much to feed and i'm certainly not covering her wine bill0 -
YNAB showing £294.39 so far in Feb but I've lost track of cash spends so I suspect the total is more
Have decided A$da may be false economy for some things. Toilet rolls - the cardboard tube is about 1cm bigger in diameter than the other ones I get and the paper is thinner so the family seem to use tons of it! And the cooked meat doesn't last as long in the fridge...GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000 -
£32 spent at the market this morning - £20 of that on an unexpected bulk-buy of meat, which was a stupendous bargain for those of us who indulge, & will do quite a few meals once divvied up & frozen in usable portions. I'm doing quite well this month, which makes a lovely change! A week to go and I'm more than £100 to the good, although more will go this weekend.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Hi Wysi
Agree re. the loo rolls, I've started buying the puppy branded quilted ones. Have managed to get them on special offer so far so not too bad and they seem to last ages longer.
Had A$da garlic bread with our meal tonight. It tasted so bitter that I had to check that it was in date. Something in the butter/herb mix left a really horrible after taste. Might have to try the Aldee one or perhaps go back to making my own up.
On the good news side, it was a NSD today.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

I think it's often a butter/spread mix in some pre made garlic breads.. Oh, that and it's garlic paste or powder used too. My boys decided ages ago that it's our home made ones or none, far cheaper too..
I use l*dls pre baked baguettes and make my own with proper butter and garlic, as nothing else comes close.."There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -
Evening y'all. Just a quick update. I spent €17.24 this evening buying fruit, yellow recycling bags, shredded cheese (OH), "wok oil", a few other bits, and finally some potato chips and small individual yoghurts for the teenagers to snack on.
The fridge is full. I think that's it for a few days. I'm taking my lunch and snacks to a client's office/work tomorrow. I'll update my sig as well. If sticking to my reduced limit of €225, this means I have €18.89 left in the coffers to spend until next week Wednesday. Holland and Barrett still haven't refunded me my money yet. I'm not angry about it, just rather annoyed that I have to keep following up about it. If it's not there by Friday evening, I'll ring them on Saturday. What a palaver.
Totals So Far:
€206.11 / €450

My spend so far for Feb is £311.49 out of £340 target. I've got £28.51 left which is do-able in next 6 days. I have to get packed lunch stuff on Sunday for the kids for the week seen as they're back in school. I would have done a lot better and come in under the £300 mark but I had to spend little more this week with kids being off school. Anyhow I'm happy with that, goal now to reduce this further next month, which seems possible at the moment as we have a lot of meat left in the freezer to take into March.Debt busting start date 08/08/18 - total debt £33,222.32 :eek: Debt now £31,352.56 - Paid £1,869.76 - 5.63% @ 05/10/20180

Currently on £477.46. No further spends planned before payday (Monday). So, am over my £300 target by a whopping £177.46! HOWEVER, this is an improvement on last by month £66.09. A 12.16% reduction on last month's spending.
To be honest, I thought I would have seen a bigger reduction than that, thanks to my meal planning this month (which I have stuck to about 95% of the time). However, having analysed my spending, I noticed that I was still spending too much at Sainsbugs (rather than Mr L).
Spend at Morries increased by 525.94% (only spent £16.19 there last month), spend at Sainsbugs decreased by 52.62%, spend at Mr L increased by 90.54%, eating out spend increased by 42.27% (!!), misc spend decreased by 100%.
So, still lots of improvement to be made in the next month!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Spent £7.31 in Morries and £4 at the market. The market stuff was 3 large broccoli, 8 x courgette, 6 large sweet peppers & 3 aubergine. I've bought a large cob - 50p, which I am going to split and make into 2 x pizzas for the freezer, with some meat free chorizo and I will turn the broccoli into soup with some coconut milk. Also need to make coleslaw n some dips with dried bean stores. I bought some caramel syrup for my coffee, but as I've given up sugar for lent, I've taken out of bulk fund, as I won't be consuming this month. Am now on £42.87/£80, which I'm very happy with, as I'm totally stocked up.0
