i got a farmfoods leaflet but defo don't need to spend the £25= are the toilet rolls any good? (3 for 10 range )
Yes, they are brill. I get the 'So Soft', as they are scent free, but they also do Nicky ones. Really thick and last a long time, 18 in a pack, if we are talking about the same thing. Are they back on offer ??

Yes, I think that is the one. They do say 'So Soft', but they have a little duck on them, so maybe they are called that. Might try n stock up 2moz.

I prefer home cooking, but it's nice to have options - I know there are some fellow vegans on here http://www.veganfoodandliving.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Goodfellas-Vegan-Pizza-Pack-Shot.jpg
  • Thank you Save Dosh - some really helpful advice there. Her first tablet will be tonight so I will try your method.

(And I concur about the little duck toilet roll - between that and Nicky Elite we would never go back to any of the big name brands)

  • I have a day left, so will update on my massive overspend tomorrow.

Morries have Quorn pieces -£1 a bag- Yesterday I did my usual fajita style 'chicken' dish (using quorn, onions, peppers) served with jacket spuds and the left overs of salad (for 4 adults). A huge hit, everyone said they'd eat again- and far cheaper than using chicken (In fact I'm not sure OH would have even known it wasn't chicken unless I'd said!). I went back for 2 more bags this morning to keep in the freezer and will try in a curry later in the week.
  • Declaring for February on £270.38/£400.
Very pleased especially given I work to an annual budget. I have got a bit of "wriggle room" now.
See you on the March thread.
  • Thought i'd update my totals for the month so far - £143.57. This is just pure food only, toiletries and household have another pot in my budget.

Going away from Sunday to Thursday, self catering, so i suspect we may go over the food budget a bit but i will try to stick to it as far a possible.
  • Spent about £14.98 today on bread, pizza and some other bits and bobs in Morrisons.
GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £89.90/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. One person vegan household with occasional visitors)
Forever learning the art of frugality
  • £10 added - it was a few pence less, but I was buying some bits for someone else too, and can't find the receipt now to get an exact figure - as I had to buy some veg at the supermarket for tonight's tea, having not got to the market all weekend thanks to Mum's A&E dash and a prior commitment today. And of course, whilst I was there, it made sense to buy some special-offer yogurt for puddings, as we don't have any nice fruit either, to add into the Fage yogurt that I nearly always have in the fridge. Heyho, that's the way the money goes... pop goes the weasel!

    Hi all

Ive not been around much this month as I have been feeling so yucky but I have been keeping track of my spends. Unfortunately I am declaring at £316.43/250 this month. Quite a bit over but I have stocked up on a lot of offers last week and also there was half term in the middle. Two hungry monsters at home for a week meant an bigger dent in the shopping budget - dreading the summer holidays :D

Anyway on to March as I get paid on Tuesday and wont be shopping again before then.
