  • Hi all, ended up buying a bag of pasta 45p today as I realised I didn't have enough left to feed the 5 of us. I'd planned the meal to use up half an opened chorizo, a jar of opened red pesto and some veg so it was a necessary spend.
Fortunately there is enough left for my lunch tomorrow.
Has anyone had any trouble finding gherkins in the supermarkets.
I usually shop at Ald! and they've not had any for weeks. I saw some at Mr T the other day but they seemed a lot more expensive than the Ald! ones.

  • I can't see about the veggie/vegan event. Do you know what exactly is vegan? I know my local Lidl is usually lacking but last time my OH managed to pick me up a few items.
    It's here https://www.lidl-flyer.com/#/715216f5-0be2-11e8-b1f4-005056ab0fb6/locale/en-GB/view/flyer/page/4

Thank you. I am ashamed to say I did mention her being a parent when it happened :o, however it was after I said that that she said it was funny .
By the way that recipe looks epic and as I'm not on a diet, though trying to keep to current weight, I will probably try that with some vegan cheese when I next buy some :D. I have some vegan parmesan right now that might work?

Vegan parm would definitely work! Or even a homemade version - I like to do toasted nuts eg pecans or almonds or even walnuts, or you can use hemp seeds or pine nuts, and grind them in a pestle and mortar with salt and nutritional yeast... yuuum!
It was definitely delicious as it was, but the top could have been jazzed up and it would have "completed" it, I just didn't have the inclination or energy at that point to think of something SW friendly!

I am now at £11.91 plus a £5 Mr T voucher left to last me till 25th Feb. 11 days.
My spends yesterday were on 6 cartons of A1pr0 dark choc almond milk as I drink this every day and it's currently on offer again at 3 for £3 instead of £1.70 each so worth stocking up as I do get through it! Also an A1pr0 Go On for a treat pudding after lunch, and a YS Wicked Kitchen ready meal also for lunch as I wanted to try it but am not paying full price!

Going to be interesting to tot everything up when we get home this week! Far too many little shopping trips in the last few days, that comes of having the other half around for the whole week!! (He is a buy as we need it person, whereas I plan and buy in advance!). Shouldn't complain though as he is doing all the cooking too! :)

Got a 3 course dinner this evening - bought the £15 meal deal from Morrisons so will see how it goes!! If we can get the kids to bed at a reasonable time (always more difficult when you are on holiday!), we might get to watch my Valentine's present "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" :D

  • Evening all. I wrote a large post and lost it all. I'll just do a quick update and then recreate the original post later when I'm less angry. :)

Monday = €22.00 on corned beef, Quorn, frozen cauliflower and 40 rolls of toilet paper.
    Tuesday and Wednesday = NSDs

    Totals So Far:
    €97.56 / €450
    8 / 10 NSDs

I'm pretty happy about how well I'm doing this month. I'll stop at Lidl tomorrow evening for a things as we're running low on vegetables and there are some Greek Week items I'd like to check out.
  • NSD today, ended up tweaking the meal plan slightly but used up stuff we already had in, so happy with that.
Need to write a shopping list for tomorrow and stick to it, as I'm planning on shopping in a different store to usual. It's half term next week for my kids but they are only with me till wednesday. I'm away the back end of the week too so only DH at home. I'm planning on making extra's on some meals so he has a homemade microwavable ready meal when he gets in from work on those days.

Does anyone know if Waitr*se have the shop and scan handheld scanners? Thinking I might get one and tot up the spends as I go around as it helps me keep track of the money easier, especially as I have some discount coupons.
