If there is to be a Virgin Money Regular eSaver issue 10 launched this afternoon and if it does have 2.5% interest .... all speculation so far ...
But if your if the finances are a bit tight then might it be worth closing Virgin Money Regular eSaver issue 4 - mine finishes 20/04 so there is only one more set of £250 to go into it.
My issue 4 only produced £32 in interest and there is only one month to go so might the £250 be better used to set up the issue 10 ...
Or reduce the monthly payment down to £10, then your get 2.25% on the higher balance for a month (it's the last few months of a regular saver that are the most valuable interest bearing months).0 -
I wouldn't close the issue 4 as it will have just about the highest balance it will ever have and therefore make the greatest interest. I would be substituting a £3,538 balance at 2.25% for £250 at 2.50%. If you are really tight for cash maybe just redirect the final £250 to the Issue 10 but you're talking pennies0

Where's the Virgin 2.5% rumour come from? I thought every issue so far had been 2.25%?0

It was a tongue-in-cheek joke.
After the rate rise, we'd all hoped for a shift from 2.25% to 2.5% and were disappointed. Hence my comment and the wink following it.
You never know - someone at Virgin might be reading and might take the hint.0 -

I'd be happier if they kept the rate at 2.25% and used the surplus to finally get their IT systems to work. Top of the list would be telling the system that if a customer already has 15+ accounts we don't need to ask them for ID each time they want to open a new store-based account :wall:
If someone at Virgin is reading this, please take the hint Then start giving us 2.5%."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

Who would launch a new account on a Friday afternoon?
Regular E-saver Issue 8
Launched Friday 10th November 2017
Nevertheless, I am prepared to eat a generous portion of humble pie for my failed prediction.

Shockingly poor performance. You clearly didn't notice the store-based issue 9 coming out of sequence as a harbinger of change
Sounds very painful so I settled for some minor discomfort with a self inflicted hangover from a Chianti Classico.
PS. I used to think VM regular savers were a waste of time till you convinced me otherwise.0
