Regular Saver Thread **New and Restarted**

This link (provided by user Snow Tiger on the Banking board) seems to imply that you can now get the HSBC regular saver by opening an ordinary bank account (no minimum balance or pay in required) - is my reading of this correct?

On the HSBC web page it does not mention this:

HSBC Regular Saver: check out link below.
Interest depends on which account you have.

Thanks for the clarification so all they are changing is the fact that if you have an ordinary bank account with 3% Regular Saver you now no longer have to pay in 500 month0

You can have the basic Bank Account, get the 3% Regular Saver and not have any minimum pay in if you are over 65. Not sure about under 65 but would suspect £500 monthly min needed.0

They seem to have changed it so no minimum payin required now

I've never done this before, so I thought I would! Monthly deposits into regular savers:
£1050 at 5%
£200 at 3.5%
£2350 @ 3%
£1350 at 2.5%
£200 at 2.3%
£500 at 2.25%
£250 at 2%0 -

Mine's almost identical, except for the 2.00% band where I'm paying in £4,550 pm, plus I have £450 at 1.75%.0 -
