If all this has to happen, and the initial deposit has to be by cheque, it's cutting it a bit fine for the initial deposit to make it into the account before the end of April.

They don't make it clear as to what they mean by £300 maximum investment per month. Is that per calendar month or maybe per month starting on the date of initial deposit??? Hopefully the latter.

If it follows the principle of their earlier one (Bond Issue 1) my first deposit was on 23/8 and the remainder on the FWD of each of the following months. I'm expecting this to be the same.

So we all might hear around Wednesday.
I didn't get home in time to get the application form back in the post yesterday, so I'm probably a day behind you lot :)

    Hi Everybody,

    I have updated the following:

    - Added in Monmouthshire BS Celebration Regular Saver Bond (issue 14), details as per Kazza's post
    - Updated the Earl Shilton BS entry

I will do another update next weekend.

For those new to this thread, the first few posts are constantly updated and are on the first page
  • Just an update to say that my online application has been accepted, even though my address is clearly (to anyone with a basis knowledge of geography) NOT in England and Wales.

This may be redundant information now that online application has been withdrawn (I applied online last week while online application was still an option). However the information may be relevant to prospective postal applicants.

I was told today by the Chepstow branch of Monmouthshire Building Society that the Celebration Regular Saver is very likely to be pulled completely within the next few days. However there are going to be other "pop up" savers to mark the society's 150th anniversary openable only in branches eg at Chepstow a regular saver paying 4.00%, maximum monthly payment £150, available from I think 4 May for 2 weeks. Worth phoning to check what may be coming up if you are in reach of one of their branches.

Monmouthshire want a cheque sending through - I no longer have an account with a chequebook. I thought I would save the planet when we last switched so didn't appply for one. Anyone been able to get them to agree to take a payment by standing order or other means?

It's a pity Monmouthshire BS could not update its systems, so that we don't have to write checks.
